- There are currently 336 active cases, of which 9 are moderately ill and 1 critically ill. - In the last 24 hours, 2 recoveries were recorded bringing that total to 772.

- Of the new cases: -19 were backlogged samples - 16 were imported, 15 directly from the United States and 1 from India via the United States. - 13 are contacts of imported cases . - 17 are under investigation.

COVID-19 UPDATE THREAD: - Jamaica in the last 24 hours recorded 46 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 1,192 cases. - The Public lab today conducted over 1,300 tests today in an effort to clear some of the backlog.

The total number of COVID- 19 related deaths is now 12 (1.3%). At the same time, 11 new samples have been confirmed positive for COVID-19. The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases for Jamaica now stands at 894.

Regrettably, Jamaica recorded two new COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours. One of the decease is a 64 year old male from Clarendon and the other is a 73 year old female from St. Thomas. The two deaths are being reported among the new cases for today.
