Today the RAH is needing to increase COVID capacity - however they are unable to do so due to ambulance shortages. Transfers out of the RAH are still waiting over 20hrs for an available ambulance. #saparli

It’s now clear his government was not ready. We’ve seen the pictures of the long queues for COVID testing. Today there were reports of interstate travellers giving up waiting nearly 5 hours for their obligatory test on arrival and just going to the cricket without having the test

Today is the first day of SA Health’s no ramping direction. Multiple crews ramped. An 89yo patient was ramped for almost 3 hours. A direction without a Govt willing to provide additional capacity, funding or resources will not resolve ramping. #saparli #stopramping

Masks, social distancing may not take #SARSCoV2 exposure to zero in all circumstances, but they reduce how many viruses a person inhales -- and that is literally a matter of life, or death.

For anyone who wasn't listening at the back...
EM management of hypertension:
1) The only step in the EM management of HTN is referral to primary care.
2) A safe blood pressure is a BP with no symptoms.
3) If you are going to treat HTN it should be in resus, intravenously.

Do not use amlodipine acutely - it takes too long. It doesn't work (shades of regular phone calls to me as the med reg at 2am) #bgsconf

Inspiring panel this morning. Having a cause to champion other than our clinical work I think goes a long way to maintain our wellbeing.

@tiramisukey @cianmcdermott Harsh doesn't necessarily mean accurate though. Maybe we're overly harsh, or focused on the wrong things. We don't know what we don't know.
