I am taken aback to see a public announcement offering a 1 crore reward for my beheading, issued by none other than a Nagar Palika Chairman and BJP leader from Sikandrabad, UP. This threat is circulating widely across social media platforms and has been reported in the mainstream media. My question to honourable @narendramodi, @amitshah, @nitinNabin, and @ombirla: Is declaring a bounty to behead a woman, a sitting Member of Parliament—issued by a BJP public representative in a BJP-ruled state—the true idea of "Nari Shakti Vandan" in New Bharat? While the BJP leadership, including honourable Chief Minster of West Bengal @SuvenduWB, made women’s security and representation a central election issue, an elected woman representative is now facing an open death threat from his own party member. Will @WBPolice @CPKolkata swiftly act on it and ensure safety? @bulandshahrpol @Uppolice I demand immediate legal and political action against the BJP member who is inciting my murder in broad daylight. I want to thank all my well-wishers who have expressed concern for my safety. The decision taken by Jahangir Khan to withdraw from the Falta re-poll is his personal decision and not that of the party. Since the election results were declared on 4th May, more than 100 of our party workers have been arrested in Falta AC alone. Several party offices have been vandalised, shut down and forcibly captured in broad daylight through intimidation, while the EC continues to turn a blind eye despite repeated complaints. Even in the face of such pressure, our workers remain rock-solid and continue to resist the BJP’s intimidation unleashed through agencies and the administration. However, some eventually succumbed to the pressure and chose to step away from the field. We strongly condemn this. Our fight against the Bangla Birodhi BJP will continue- both in West Bengal and in Delhi.

I finally got the courage to post the aftermath of this incident because I feel everyone should know. The polic after coming to my home(kgp) with 3 vehicles,2-3 female constables,SHO and asking me to delete the tweet asked me to report to Kharagpur town thana the next day. I was in Kolkata and the very next day there was a strike in protest of the incident. I consulted 2-3 senior doctors whom I know from Twitter and they got me in touch with higher authorities and lawyers. They told me to mail an apology l and framed it as well. I still remember the anxiety attacks I used to get every time the doorbell rang. Got no response to my emails. My brother went and waited for 4 hours in the PS and left as the SHO didn’t arrive.Just 2 days after,2 police officers again went to my home at around 8am when my brother was getting ready for work,he was told to immediately come to the police station. He insisted,May I come after office hours(he’s an administrative officer in a central govt. job) to which they said No,it’s urgent. He drove to the PS and then waited for the officer to arrive. He waited for 3-4 hours and left to again come in the evening after his office hours.

Couldn’t sleep without posting this. My mom got a call from my neighbour (from my hometown) at around 7.30 pm that police(3-4 uniformed officers) were searching for my home. They were saying Kolkata police had asked them to summon me about some post and they searching for my home. They eventually reached my place and my brother and sister in law were present. My brother called me and put me on speaker. ‘Did you post about a student of Burdwan university?’ ‘Yes,I did.’ ‘Did you verify the credibility of the post?’ ‘I did see articles of media houses about the same but I blatantly believed an angle I saw spreading in people’s statuses(that it was related to the ‘Claim the night’ protest). I edited it under the post after verification.’ ‘Please delete the post and don’t further post information without verifying and report to the Town thana tomorrow’ My brother apologised with his hands joined,’She’s just deeply affected with things going on in her fraternity. Please forgive her.’ ‘Ask your sister to not act so smart,her career can be ruined over it.’ There was no notice/summon. My mother was sobbing and calling every person she knows to handle this situation,she was helpless. My brother was ashamed to his core,as the neighbours were asking why police was enquiring for me. I had always been this quiet introverted child who kept all my life,this was shocking for them.

To every soldier of the Trinamool Congress family, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your courage, resilience, and relentless fight for justice. Despite an extremely difficult and compromised election, you never gave up hope. Our candidates and counting agents were forcibly removed in several places, while the counting process was effectively controlled by Central Government employees. After the results, Bengal witnessed shocking post-poll violence despite repeated promises of protection by the Centre. Central forces remained mute spectators as our workers, offices, and homes were attacked and set ablaze. My deepest condolences to the families of those we lost in this struggle. Bengal has suffered immensely over the past few days, and such scenes are against the very spirit of our land. But this fight is far from over. We will challenge every illegality, manipulation, and abuse of power through every constitutional and legal avenue available to us. We have full faith in the Hon’ble Supreme Court and in the democratic institutions of this country. In more than 100 seats, our candidates and counting agents were forcibly removed, serious irregularities were reported, and the mandate of the people was undermined. The truth cannot be buried forever, and every injustice faced by the people of Bengal will be raised with strength and determination. The people of Bengal know who stood beside them through every hardship, and we must continue to do so with patience, unity, and determination. Truth cannot be suppressed forever. We will return stronger. Stay united. Stay on the ground. Continue serving the people with courage, discipline, and positivity. Our fight will continue with unwavering determination and faith in democracy.

My mamaji is on ventilator. He had all his life’s savings within PSU bank in FDs. All his accounts have been sealed as due to being bed ridden he could not do re-KYC in person. His kids asked bank to take humane view. Bank said if he cannot come in person, accounts will not open. FDs in PSU banks can be useless in time of need due to KYC regulations. @narendramodi @RBI this KYC mess is draconian. Please help in this time of need
