This is an amazing place in Cappadocia, Turkey — definitely worth visiting. There are many underground sites like this throughout the region, and no one knows exactly who originally built them. Apparently, early Christians used these underground cities to hide from Roman persecution, before the ancient Roman Empire converted to Christianity.

In 1963, a man in Turkey knocked down a wall in his basement... and accidentally discovered Derinkuyu, an enormous 18-story ancient underground city built to shelter 20,000 people during invasions.

@frandalorian I really like Elon Musk, but I have to say, Musk made a terrible decision for a casual fling. This woman simply wasn’t worth it — neither intellectually nor in terms of looks.

Ashley St Claire recounting the moment after the first time her and Elon had sex: “he literally looks at me and says ‘pick a name.’” PICK A NAME!? What does that even mean?! Is he naming a planet? The position? The baby they just raw-dogged into life? Legend. Absolute Legend.

@Concern70732755 By the time Carney leaves office, many of you will probably see him as the worst Prime Minister in Canadian history. By the way, I think Carney could even win a second term. I genuinely feel sorry for Canadians.

@QuantumTech_X This is Corinth Canal in Greece. I have been there in 2023. On my way to Mycenaea. You can take a day trip tour from Athens to Mycenaea, the bus will stop at this canal for a short break. Tourists will take some photos from the bridge.

@GadSaad @Columbia If it was true that you were taught that Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle were Black at Columbia university, I have to say you waisted some good time of your life at that place. Especially unfortunate if you paid for your education there.

@ApolloMars6 @EndWokeness You are Wrong to say that. There were so many bilingual stuff because ancient Greeks translation from Egypt to Greek, for example the Rosetta Stones, these stones were created by the Greeks, not the Egyptian.

@MichaelChenJS @EndWokeness They were the actual main translator of greek dramas for example, because these holy writings were bought by the Egyptians from the greek cities and multiplied and sold (they had cheap papyrus and the Macedonian dynasty used this factor to dominate literature production)

I have been to Knossos palace in CRETE island, and Heraklion Archaeological Museum back in 2023, I stayed there for over 10 days, I even went to a cave where the locals would say Zeus was born. There were some wall paintings in the Knossos palace which clearly Showed ancient Egyptian style, but there were NO proof that Egyptians conquest. It’s a greek palace.

@MichaelChenJS @EndWokeness to be fair, the Egyptians influenced Greece as trade partners heavily, but not in numbers and the Greeks took over the trades and made colonies in Egypt to the point, that they had in every major Egyptian city a major minority group.

China has actually entered an economic recession since two years ago. Even if the official GDP figures do not show a recession, those numbers have been polished. Real estate and its related industries account for about 27% of China’s GDP, and have fully entered a downward channel, and it is difficult, almost impossible to reverse. China’s real estate bubble can be said to be the most severe asset bubble in human history. Over the past 30 years, China has built too many apartments and houses, far exceeding demand, because Chinese people have no better investment channels, so they have no choice but to put their money into housing. Moreover, land is not privately owned in China; it belongs to the state. The CCP is essentially leasing land to homebuyers. More than 60% of housing prices are land rent, and the CCP is effectively extracting 60% property tax, and collecting these taxes in advance. This restricts the disposable income of homebuyers. After the pandemic, a large number of companies have left China, which has further increased unemployment. For many years, China has relied on dumping cheap goods to earn huge trade surpluses, but this year, after the Trump administration took over Venezuela and the war with Iran restricted China’s access to cheap oil, the low-cost advantage of China’s mid- and low-end manufacturing will gradually disappear, which will weaken China’s ability to dump cheap goods to the world in the future. In short, China is facing serious challenges.
