Something that is not being talked about enough. (I think) Why would Kessler agree to take this case if it was a truly as cut and dry as everyone makes it out to be?
I know billable hours are undefeated but Kessler isn't really someone who's going to waste his own time. Especially on something this high profile that is equally hopeless.

Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby has hired prominent attorney Jeffrey Kessler as he works to restore his college eligibility amid an ongoing NCAA investigation into alleged betting activity through a gambling app, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Pete Thamel. Sources say that if Sorsby and Kessler are unable to secure a path back to eligibility, entering the NFL Supplemental Draft could become the next option. The deadline to declare for the supplemental draft is June 30.

The NCAA is going to screw him and Texas Tech but this is absolutely stupid. He only bet on Indiana to win and he didn't bet on a single game that he played in.
The purpose of these anti gambling rules is to discourage athletes from throwing games and nothing about Sorsby's betting habits would have been a conflict of interest for Indiana.
