ALPHA alert 🚨🚨🚨 I’ve been aware of a new scalable POW L1 that’s been in testnet for some time. $QUAI @Quainetwork is an infinitely scalable L1 blockchain using a unique hierarchical multi-chain structure. What is $QUAI exactly and why is it exciting? ✅ They use a unique POW algorithm called PoEM (Proof of Entropy Minima) This is the secret sauce allowing nodes to be in consensus immediately, and what makes it infinitely scalable. ✅ Scaling is completed automatically by the protocol, so if cost becomes too high due to congestion, more shards are spun up as needed. ✅ Transaction cost aimed at always being sub 1c/tx. ✅ 250 TPS per shard, scaling linearly (10 chains is 2500 tps throughput, 100 chains is 25000 TPS etc). 10 second block time. Snappy for sending transactions and dApp usage. ✅ EVM compatibility. Easy for applications to migrate, and assets to bridge between compatible chains. Suitable for payments, DeFi, NFTs and enterprise solutions. ✅An internal team of over 25 members. ✅An initial fund raise of $10m in 2022 from Polychain, Alumni and Zero1 to develop the initial test and main nets. What does the unique architecture look like? Chains on $QUAI are a new way of managing scalability, using a hierarchical structure (like a pyramid). They are split into 3 different types: 1⃣ Prime - Top of the tree, there can only be one. Prime is responsible for the security of the entire network. No execution transactions happen on prime so there’s no interaction when you’re using a dApp, but final reconciliation ends up there. 2⃣ Region - Middle management. Regions are responsible for the security of their subset of Zone chains. Like Prime they have no direct execution transactions, but reconciliation of their Zones ends up on the Region chains. Multiple region chains can sit under the Prime chain. 3⃣ Zones - The worker bees. These are highly agile and where all the action happens. If you’re using an application it will be on a Zone. Your wallet resides on zones and you can simply move assets between zones to utilise functionality elsewhere on the network. The goal is to be able to interact with any Zone from the one you’re currently on in order to provide a seamless user experience so that the multichain architecture isn’t visible to users.
