@moonrefazer @KinguGaiden The difference there though is that the devs actually worked to make the games better on the hardware they released on, they didn't cop out by throwing the game on a system that can brute force the performance

@Mangaminx The Gameboy era games I can understand, they're pretty dated. The DS and 3DS era games still hold up pretty great today though, what about them didn't you like?

This actually might be genuinely one of my hottest takes ever and I don't care. I hate the old Pokemon games, I've only ever enjoyed Sword/Shield , Scarlet/Violet and Arceus , it took the games fully going 3D for me to like them at all.

Super spicy take: I really liked these games scuff and all. Especially the pre-DLC main story endgame. And easily top 5 best OSTs of all pokemon games

The base game's story is complete garbage and people only think it's good because they see angst in your kids game and think that makes for deep and compelling writing when it doesn't.

The DLC is not as bad as everyone says it is. It's absolutely a grind fest but I've come to realize the reason this is considered bad is because most Pokemon fans don't play any other games. They just want to be handed their "prize" of the interesting Pokemon and call it a day.
