I hope Samsung’s smartphone business can be spun off from Samsung Electronics.
It sounds radical, but this may be one of the ways for Galaxy to become truly powerful again.
On paper, Samsung’s smartphone business has the strongest vertical supply chain in the world: its own displays, memory, sensors, chips, and manufacturing ecosystem.
But that strength has also become a burden.
Galaxy is a top global smartphone brand, yet it is often restricted by the internal interests of the Samsung empire.
Memory has to consider the profits of DS.
Displays have to consider the profits of Samsung Display.
Chips have to consider the existence of Exynos.
Costs have to consider the group’s overall profit structure.
Product strategy has to take care of the entire Samsung ecosystem.
As a result, Samsung’s smartphone division is starting to look less like a pure smartphone company, and more like an internal coordination department of a giant conglomerate.
In the past, Samsung won the world through vertical integration. Owning displays, memory, chips, and manufacturing was a massive advantage.
But today’s smartphone market is different.
Consumers do not care how complicated your internal synergy is.
They only care whether the display is good, the camera is strong, the battery is big, charging is fast, the software is smooth, and the product is worth the money.
If Galaxy becomes more independent, it can make decisions based purely on product competitiveness.
Use the best chip.
Use the right display.
Use the strongest sensor.
Choose whoever can make Galaxy better.
Galaxy should stand on the side of users, product experience, and market competition, instead of always calculating internal group interests first.
In recent years, Galaxy Ultra camera hardware has been stagnant. Charging has been conservative. Battery upgrades have been conservative. Foldables are now being chased aggressively by Chinese brands.
Many times, it is not that Samsung Mobile lacks the ability to be more aggressive. It is carrying too much of the group’s internal logic on its back.
Samsung Mobile needs to regain its ambition.
It should think like an independent consumer electronics company.
Focus on experience like Apple.
Push hardware like Chinese brands.
Dare to redefine smartphones like the old Galaxy Note era.
Clear boundaries between brothers can sometimes be healthier than one family tying each other down.
If Samsung’s smartphone business is ever spun off from Samsung Electronics, Galaxy may lose some internal protection, but it will gain something more important: freedom.
Freedom to source.
Freedom to choose.
Freedom to compete.
Freedom to innovate.
Samsung Mobile should not remain a sacrifice for the balance of group interests.
Galaxy should become Galaxy again, the brand that makes the entire industry nervous.

Samsung, this will be my final year in supporting your products as a customer if you keep following this trajectory.
When I buy a Galaxy S Ultra, I expect to have the latest and best that you offer, with absolutely no corners cut.
It's quite simple: Stop being cheap, and make your customer's money worth it for Galacy S27 Ultra.
If you don't, expect to be eaten by Apple and Vivo.
The choice is yours.

@HOFS0T0 Some good songs but most are snooze fests. Most songs sound the same and are genuinely not catchy.

Obama on the Iran nuclear deal today:
“We pulled it off without firing a missile. We got 97% of their enriched uranium out. There’s no dispute that it worked. We didn’t have to kill a whole bunch of people or shut down the Strait of Hormuz.”
$25 billion spent. 14 Americans dead.
Oil at $119 a barrel. The world has one month of strategic reserves left. A UAE oil port on fire. Ships turning back at gunpoint.
Trump called Obama’s deal the worst deal ever made.
Then tore it up.
Then started a war to get back to the same place.
