A day ago, several buildings near Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall caught fire. And this broke Dubai even more. Many major airlines like British Airways and Virgin Atlantic have cancelled their flights to Dubai. Tourists are cancelling trips in record numbers. Businesses are shutting down. The tourism industry is on the brink of collapse. Many countries like Australia are telling their residents to leave Dubai immediately. Real Estate has crashed. Investors believe more attacks on infrastructure and ports are likely in the coming months. Dubai is also arresting tourists for filming videos of missiles. The confidence in the city has been destroyed.

Spoke to a friend who arrived from Dubai this morning. She says it's like living in a war zone, and can't say anything there. Also told me about a hotel in Deira where she knew a lot of Pakistani workers -- they've all been laid off and are going back to Pakistan because hotel occupancy is currently at 12% and all bookings for April have been cancelled. You won't hear this from the Dubai Media Office. So, you're welcome.
