@TurkishAirlines Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to lodge a formal complaint and demand immediate intervention regarding the unacceptable and unprofessional treatment I am currently facing at Istanbul International Airport (IST) due to Turkish Airlines' operational delays and negligence. I am a professional Seafarer traveling from India to Albania to join my vessel on active duty. I possess all valid travel documents, visas, and necessary approvals required for this journey. Date of Incident: May 20, 2026 The Ground of Complaint: 1. Delay in Verification: Upon my arrival/transit, my documents were held by Turkish Airlines staff for "approval verification." Although my documentation is 100% accurate and valid, your staff took an unreasonable amount of time, causing me to miss my connecting flight to Albania. The visa/approval has now been confirmed as valid, proving that the delay was entirely on the airline's part. 2. Denial of Immediate Rebooking: After the approval was cleared, your ground staff informed me that the next available flights for the next 5 days are fully booked, leaving me stranded in the transit area indefinitely. 3. Denial of Basic Amenities (Food & Duty of Care): Despite the delay being caused solely by Turkish Airlines, your staff has explicitly refused to provide me with food vouchers, water, or hotel accommodation. The transit desk staff is responding with "I don't know" and refusing to cooperate. As a Seafarer traveling for essential maritime operations, being stranded for 5 days without food or accommodation is a severe violation of international aviation passenger rights anda breach of the airline’s Duty of Care. Therefore, I urgently demand: 1. Immediate Rebooking: Please arrange an alternative routing or endorse my ticket to another airline (e.g., Pegasus, Aegean, or any partner airline) to fly me to Tirana, Albania (TIA) today without any further delay. 2. Duty of Care: Provide me with immediate Duty of Care, including food vouchers and airport hotel accommodation until my alternative flight is arranged. If this matter is not resolved immediately, I will be forced to escalate this issue to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) India, the Turkish Civil Aviation Authorities (SHGM), and the International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF) for harassment and financial losses caused to my shipping company due to delayed vessel joining. I am currently waiting near the help desk and expect an immediate resolution from a Duty Manager.
