This past month, we reflected and educated ourselves on the history, experiences, contributions and accomplishments of many Black Canadians. They have inspired us! With that, #BlackHistoryMonth cannot and will not be limited to just February. It's today and every day!
Leonard Brathwaite, grew up in Kensington Market. By his late teens, he employed several people selling newspapers on Spadina Ave. He went on to become a successful lawyer and later becoming the first Black Canadian to be elected to the Ontario Legislature. #BlackHistoryMonth
Today, we recognize International Holocaust Remembrance Day, a day commemorating the tragedy of the Holocaust as we remember the millions of Jews, and many others, who were murdered during the Second World War.
