This evening, I broke bread with the Muslim community at the Pike County Islamic Center — a house of worship that was targeted with hate and violence earlier this week. The holy month of Ramadan is a time of reflection, community, and light. As I met with local leaders and worshippers for Iftar tonight, I saw that light firsthand, despite the darkness they experienced just three days ago. To our Muslim neighbors all across Pennsylvania: I’ve got your back. And you will always have a home here in our Commonwealth.

Now the government is deliberately refusing to process our visas. Denying a prisoner treatment is cruel. Denying his children the right to see him is collective punishment.
