@BillowKerrow Does anyone know how many Kenya soldiers are in Jubaland. Does that threaten the sovereignty of Somalia. Jubaland forces protect Kenyan borders with their lives. Let's appreciate the security interdependence between Jubaland and Kenya, especially the NE counties.
English

Kenya's political dalliance with Jubaland in recent years has undermined our security, particularly in Mandera. It's unacceptable to turn Mandera into a theater of conflict btwn Somalia forces.💯

An 84-year journey of love, care & compassion came to an end. Today--Friday April 25, 2025-- we bury my beloved mother Khadija who dedicated her life to raising 13 children in the best way she could. Now that she is in a transition to Allah’s heavenly sanctuary, may He (SWT) shower her with His compassion and forgiveness as she raised us with kindness and love.
May Allah forgive her shortcomings and accept all her good deeds. Ameen.
SURLY, TO ALLAH WE BELONG AND TO HIM WE SHALL A LL RETURN.

FEATURE: Bahja Ahmed Shale emerged as one of the leading candidates in last year's KCSE exams. Bahja is an orphan. In 2016, Her father, who served in the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), died in an Al-Shabaab attack on El Adde. Four years later, in 2020, she lost her mother, who succumbed to the Covid-19 virus.
Despite experiencing deeply personal losses over a short period of time, the 18 year old beat all odds to score A- in national Secondary school exams.
A former student of Saka Girls Secondary School in Garissa County, Bahja now appeals for support to further her education and become a medical doctor.
She spoke to Yunis Dekow on the phone about what she feels about her results, the emotional setback and what the future holds for her.

@gabowduale @pokemonhunterr Suldan, Shaydaanka iska naar 😆. Performing Omrah and rebuilding Syria are complementary, not mutually exclusive deeds. This guy desperately needs Allah's favour's to surmount the herculean task of rebuilding Syria; and what a better place to seek these favors!
English

@pokemonhunterr There are Syrian children sleeping in roads and streets in Mogadishu - helping them come home can bring him much closer to Allah according to me.
English

I think his priority should be rebuilding the nation so that millions of Syrians can come back home.

@gabowduale Can't agree more. The time series, not relative to some diaspora city, will make one appreciate how far Mogadishu and other cities in Somalia have come at <0.0% of their potential.
English

@ahmedvision1 Absolutely agree, but it takes a sacrifice. Civil societies, the world over edured threats, intimidation, harassment to gain the legitimacy they need to take up their rightful space in their societies.
English

In a normal context, this might be true. However, in the current context of Somalia, the situation is complex due to poverty and security challenges. The civil society is vulnerable to threats from both governmental and non-governmental actors. Statehood cannot be achieved without an empowered civil society. In scenarios genuine civil society engagement fail, divisive fake news makers will take the space, we are already living to that experience.
English

It's concerning that many seated leaders in the FGS and FMS, along with some members of the international community, perceive civil society voices as unnecessary or invaluable. Meaningful change in a nation cannot stem from the opinions of a select few political leaders, regardless of their expertise or experience.
Allowing space only for those who resort to violence poses significant risks. Civil society encompasses a diverse array of stakeholders—including professionals, the business community, traditional and religious leaders, youth, women's groups, and the diaspora—who often lack immediate vested political interests. Their impartiality enables them to offer genuine, unbiased perspectives that are crucial for constructive dialogue and effective state-building in Somalia.
Moreover, it's vital to acknowledge the current absence of a robust, organized civil society that represents broader interests. But also important to underline many potential contributors and informed civil society leaders are deterred by the limited space for expression, fearing repercussions for their businesses or livelihoods. This environment stifles essential voices that could enrich the national discourse.
We need civilized system that values and empowers civil society voice, ensuring that every voice has the opportunity to contribute. Not only to engage them but also important to empower and encourage their existence.

@SASheikh14 Are they telling you to go back to Somalia with the over 45% of Kenya's current landmass? Did the Bantu-Kenyas say when they are returning to Congo and Nilot-Kenyans to Sudan? Unlike Somalis, these groups are brought no ancestral land with them in Kenya. #historicalfacts

@ahmednasirlaw @cobbo3 Somalia's greatest asset is her vibrant diaspora, whose investments drive the economy back home & in the region. The EAC membership fee is an investment aimed at expanding market access and ensuring Somali investors can thrive in the common market.
English

What a misplaced priority! Paying US$ 7.85m as membership fees for EAC by the poorest country in the world is criminal and negligent. The secretariat should immediately return the same, give Somalia a waiver and order the Mogadishu regime to spend the same on health care and education. Mogadishu is obsessed without outside manifestation of statehood and equate attending conferences and workshops in foreign capital cities as evidence of progress. Mogadishu should be told that it's the empirical realities inside Somalia that make the difference...and so far, things aren't good.
English

DRC vs Somalia In East Africa: Mogadishu Wins (Part 1)
•March, 22, 2022, DR Congo joins the East African Community
•March 24, 2024, Somalia becomes full member of the EAC, and 8th
•June, 2024, Somalia pays US$7.85 MILLION of its contribution in a lumpsum ahead of the deadline for the 2024/25 EAC budget
•June, 2024, more than two years after joining DRC hasn’t paid a single penny and owes $14.7 MILLION, way out the highest among the defaulters (incl Burundi and South Sudan)
We told the sceptics, but they didn’t listen; don’t bet against Somalia and, especially, Somalis

@alimaalim Hajj is Ibadah that requires utmost patience. The Hujay were prepared for the hardships in it. Better Muslims performed it under worse conditions. Pls stop spoiling your good deeds if you're one of them. If not, pls refrain from confusing it as another Mandera political event.
English

SHAME and INDIGNITY AT HAJJ
This year, Kenyans performing Hajj endured deplorable, subhuman conditions, marked by indignity and shame. 3,000 Kenyans are forced to share a single washroom, 400 crammed into each tent at Mina, with many not assigned any space at all. Poorer nations are treated with dignity and respect.
@SUPKEM1 is mandated to plan, negotiate & execute Hajj arrangements. Sadly, it has become an institution of deceit and corruption. SUPKEM dismissed and disregarded calls from various agencies to rectify this issue.
I implore relevant authorities to investigate SUPKEM and hold it accountable for this failure. It is time to consider forming a more effective entity and restore our nation's honor. Photo below is a caption from a bathroom queue.

@mohammedhersi Historically marginalised counties such as those in NE are economically disadvantaged to feature prominently in your list, but their people are the leading source of revenue for the top ten revenue contributing counties in Kenya, and the largest, Nairobi for that matter.
English

Separating facts from myth
Before your shout yourself hoarse how much your county is keeping Kenya alive please have a look at the Gross County Product contribution by county. Source: Kenya National Bureau of Statistics
and Commission on Revenue Allocation CRA.
Take a look at the average county contribution to Gross Value Added .
Folks don't let terminologies scare you , what is GVA ? It's the contribution of a county to the output of the country.
So who are the Top 10?
What are your thoughts? For me Meru & Kilifi pleasant surprise.
