@Simon_Hypixel @SecretChiley @_Hawkon @not_mynes Just to clarify my earlier point — I was using Minecraft as an example. In Minecraft, capes are locked‑down cosmetics, while body skins are fully customizable. My question for Hytale is whether it will follow a similar model.

Exciting news about our new self-funded game studio! After a thorough search and many conversations, I’m thrilled to introduce the leadership duo and co-founders for our new venture: Kevin ‘Slikey’ Carstens (@slikey) & Patrick Derbic (@Lyall_PD) Many of you will remember Slikey from Hypixel, where he started as a Minigame Developer 10 years ago. He was key in developing tech for games like Skywars, Mega Walls, Warlords, and many more. Most recently, he worked on the Engine and World Generation for Hytale before serving as Game Systems Lead. He recently left to pursue his passion for indie games and is now joining us as our CTO / Technical Director. Patrick joined Hypixel from Riot in 2015, where he played a crucial role in growing and supporting the playerbase. He later ran the Hypixel Network, leading to the creation of Skyblock as well as other major game updates. After transitioning to Hytale as a Producer, he recently took leave to explore other options in the gaming industry and is now joining us as CEO / Game Director. Both Slikey and Patrick bring a wealth of experience and expertise. I have complete confidence in their ability to build a dynamic team to create fun and engaging games for our players! I will support them via an advisory role, finance the team and help them creatively along the journey. As we share the same passion for games and vision for the new studio, I fully trust Slikey and Patrick to build up the company and make great games. They will handle production, hiring, and everything a game studio needs to do! Stay tuned for more updates!

I get it 100%, look I am even down to put 25 millions USD by myself to finish Hytale, that’s how much I believe in it.
No kickstarter, just raw passion, high pressure and high risk taking. Reduce scope: legacy engine, pc only first, open source some parts, small team, cut unfinished features to accelerate towards beta. Get players in ASAP to support development. I even already have a dozen of Hytale legacy engine veterans working with me.
That’s what I would do, but I have not reached out, I’m just thinking about it now because of the bullying haha. This would be a massive challenge and impact all aspects of my life so I would probably need to consult with my family first!

Hi @Simon_Hypixel, I think I speak for the entire Hytale community when I say that Hytale can't be canceled. It was a game with infinite potential. Wouldn't there be any possibility that, together with Riot, you could partner with the former team to revive the legacy engine?

12 years ago, I created Hypixel.
Today, I'm branching out to create a new, entirely self-funded game studio, starting with a $4 million USD budget.
My focus is on producing fun games and putting together a talented, dedicated, lean team. The financial return of our debut game isn't my primary concern.
Production begins this summer. The search for a high-performing leadership team to bring the vision to life is underway. Interested parties should contact me.
