Actually, in order to become a better person, you must first realize how horrible you really are. not in the dramatic sense, but in the quiet ways you sabotage yourself, repeat unhealthy patterns, hurt people who care about you, or tolerate what wounds you. you cannot grow if you keep pretending you're innocent in the story you created.

“He was a hero to his family.” Cheryl Simmons' son, Tech. Sgt. Tyler H. Simmons, was among the six U.S. service members killed in a military refueling aircraft crash over Iraq last week. Simmons says her son loved being in the military and told her that while he knew the risks, he “was born for this.” “He was our only child. You know, grandchildren, we won’t have. Him being married, you know, he wanted to be married.”

Brotherhood. The kind of bond where belief runs deeper than the spotlight, and success is measured by those next to you, so you build together. For years, we’ve watched Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan move with that kind of trust, lifting each other up while creating stories that reflect pieces of our lives, our history, and our imagination. Film after film, they’ve shown what it means to stand beside your brother and build something lasting. Tonight, they win their first Oscars together for Sinners. History Made. In the final moments of the 2026 Los Angeles Marathon, the outcome came down to the very last steps. Kenyan runner Michael Kimani Kamau was leading but fell at the finish line, just as Foundational Black American runner Nathan Martin was closing in, making it the closest finish in this marathon’s history.

The conditions in the video is horrible and no one should pretend otherwise. But it’s also important to understand the context. Most of these workers come from extremely poor rural areas in South Asia where wages are a few dollars a day. Working in the Gulf often lets them many several times what they could at home and send money back to support entire families. That’s why millions choose to come. People watching this from wealthy countries are often shocked because they’ve never seen how the poorest parts of the world actually live. Over a Billion people live on less than $5 a day, many working in far worse conditions than this. Don't just blame Dubai.
