Dad’s life was remarkably extended thanks to countless anonymous people who #giveblood 🙏. It is amazing in Britain how we don’t incentivize people with material rewards to give blood - but we do need more donors especially young people. I took my daughter for the 1st time ❤️

I knew she had worked there but only found out at her funeral that it was photography department. Remember kids, speak to your parents. They may actually have some interesting stuff to talk about. 🤦‍♂️🙁

A cursory lunch break glance at the names of the Singapore missing in the Leicester Mercury showed that according to the CWGC, 4 of the 10 men died at the hands of the Japanese: - William Lockton 15/12/41 Singapore Memorial - John Sale 20/01/42 Kranji War Cemetery - Walter Flewitt 01-30/07/43 Singapore memorial - George Pick 10/07/43 Kanchanaburi War Cemetery @newsofthewar

@AndyAitcheson Interesting, thanks for the reply. The Leicester always seem to fall under the radar. Relatively small regiment maybe. They even had a first world war VC recipient who was from my village.

Sunburnt ankles and one blister is the tally of bumps and bruises so far.
