@PlanRwanda staff today visited the Kiziguro Genocide Memorial in @GatsiboDistrict to commemorate the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. We learned about the tragic history of the genocide, listened to survivors’ testimonies, and laid wreaths in honour of the victims. #Kwibuka32

From Scars to Strength: The Resilience of Judence Kayitesi Look at these two images. On the left, a permanent scar from the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. It is a physical reminder of the day Judence’s world was shattered at just 11 years old. On the right, the radiant beauty of a survivor who refused to be defined by her pain. In her memoir, "A Broken Life: In Search of Lost Parents and Lost Happiness," @JudenceK shares her journey through the "emotional numbness" of losing her family to becoming a powerful global voice for peace. Why This is a Must-Read ✅ A Child’s Perspective: A raw and honest look at history through the eyes of an 11-year-old. ✅ The Power of Healing: An inspiring roadmap for reclaiming life and joy after trauma. Today, Judence is a mother, author, and advocate dedicated to reconciliation. She even recently released a children’s book, "The Unity Quest," to teach the next generation about the power of togetherness. 📚Book Title: A Broken Life ✍️Author: Judence Kayitesi Let’s honor the incredible strength of survivors and keep the light of memory alive. 🕯️ #Kwibuka32

“You must build resistance within yourself. Refuse to be put down. Even if you bring me down physically, my spirit will not go down. That is what builds people, that is what builds families, that is what builds nations. Resisting. How can you disrespect me? You may kill me, you may overpower me, you may bring me down by force, but you will never defeat my spirit.” President Kagame | National Prayer Breakfast.
