i keep thinking about this but can’t figure out what the problem is. did the show lose all of its budget? like ALL of it? or were the writers just so lazy this time they only managed a series of conversations in rooms? the lived-in world just feels so unbelievably limited now.

there’s still good shows like digital circus but even then it’s not even half as good as gravity falls, regular show, flapjack, or adventure time with how it feels very fleshed out and natural like the characters are real ppl kinda way

“indie animation” is now a label used to guilt people into giving bad writers lee way for a bad show, the last 6 years we’ve baked criticism out of discussion and we’re seeing the clear impact of that in a lot of shows now across the board

@StarGureisu a lot of writers now don’t understand writing on a fundamental level anymore a lot of what i see now feels like “ok this character has to feel good now” instead of asking what the character would feel in the scenario and tweak the scenario around the character

@StarGureisu most people making indie animations now produce it like their making content, not a story which inhibits it from being as good as it can be. You cannot make a good show with an audience in mind you have to make something you want to make and have the audience find the story

i really really reallyyyyyy want to support indie animation, but they are all the same 💀💀💀 Visually they sure are different from one another, that's good. But the writing and the characters get equally boring and annoying so quick. Maybe adultescent humor is not for me...
