I see Rory’s 2023 tweet about the rollback going around again, and it reinforces why he should not be seen as a thought leader in golf. Everything I’ve ever seen him say it’s so clear he got it from someone else - which is why he flip-flops so frequently. It depends on who he’s talked to most recently. He has no personal conviction. That’s just a fact - look at the mountain of evidence. He’s not a leader but I hope he changes. For now just go back to doing what the @PGATOUR tells you. That’s what you’re best at. Anyway, the “sustainability” argument is bunk - they’ve been making the same arguments about golf & equipment since the game started. Golf EVOLVES - that’s part of the beauty of it. It has become too Americanized (which feeds into distance) so players have chased distance - not complicated. Many courses it doesn’t matter how far you hit it because there are penalties to hitting it too far and it should make you think & strategize. Too many courses in the pro game don’t do this. I didn’t hear almost any complaints about the golf ball going too far at the PGA. You probably won’t hear it at Shinnecock or Birkdale or Valderrama either. They just spent $25m at TPC Craig Ranch only to have Si Woo on 59 watch & -18 leading halfway through. Talk about “sustainability!” Is his length causing the low scores? Don’t think so. That course has no business hosting a tour level event - IDC how much 💰they spend. Period. Change my mind.

@ShaneRyanHere This is terrific Ryan. It’s nice to know I cut through & hit a raw nerve! If your crew spent as much time on your publication as you do trying to troll, it might become readable again. Back to work kids.

Wow. Kyle Busch was a lifelong @HyFlyers_GC fan and one of the original believers in the #LIVGolf League. A foundational booster of the legendary HyFlyers franchise, Kyle also played a major role in the recruitment of NCAA National Champion Michael LaSasso. RIP KB 🏁

We are saddened and heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Kyle Busch, a two-time Cup champion and one of our sport's greatest and fiercest drivers. He was 41 years old. We extend our deepest condolences to the Busch family, Richard Childress Racing and the entire motorsports community.

The #LIVGolf business plan that will be pitched to potential investors will based around a few key pillars: - An expansion of player equity. Prior to this new business plan the only players in the league that were granted equity were the team captains. This will expand and non-captains will be able to own equity in the teams. This will further strengthen the bond between the players in the league as they give those players a true interest in the league's growth. Nearly a dozen players have reportedly expressed interest in either securing or furthering investment in their team or the league as a whole, with many more making introductions to potential outside team and league investors. This internal alignment shows just how much the players believe in the model. - A 10 event schedule that capitalizes on the momentum LIV has had in many areas of the world. This this pillar boils down to trimming the fat and expanding on what's working. I would expect to see the less commercially successful events drop off the schedule (Riyadh, I'm talking about you), and for the league to lean into the most successful events like Adelaide and South Africa. These events, by all measures, were very successful and show that the demand for elite golf around the world exists and is viable. The new approach won't be limited to "How do we replicate Adelaide?", but will also be "How do we make Adelaide even bigger?" or "How do we make Adelaide even more meaningful and memorable?". Take what's been shown to be successful thus far and grow it, while planting roots that will flourish in similar, but new markets. - A strengthening of the bottom line. This is a two-pronged approach that includes increasing revenues and cutting costs. A lot of that cost cutting will come from the lessened schedule and a reduction of corporate bloat, while some may include a restructuring of existing player contracts and reduced expenses in event operations. The other prong of that two pronged approach will be expanding on the continuing trend of increased revenue. By leveraging their most successful events and looking for opportunities to expand on that model those elsewhere in the world, there will be numerous avenues in which they can increase revenues. These events are largely funded by tourism boards and global sponsors, but the success of them will also allow for LIV Golf to ask more of existing partners, including their global broadcast deals. Keep in mind, over 5 million viewers watched the Adelaide event worldwide. - Leveraging investment to build towards profitability. The $200-350 million that LIV Golf is expecting to raise isn't simply an extension of runway. These funds will be used to develop global partnerships both in and outside of the golf ecosystem. These partnerships will accomplish multiple things. The first is the most obvious, they will greatly decrease the expected time to profitability. The second is enhancing existing relationships with events around the world to provide increased playing opportunities for current and future LIV Golf players. These relationships could also begin to lay the groundwork for potential pathways into the league as well as further integration into the global golf ecosystem. Overall, the pitch to investors brings clarity in terms of path to profitability, unity in terms of belief in the product, and optimism in terms of building on what's already been established.

LIV GOLF Haters. “Having a party hole par 3 with stadium seating at every event is dumb.” Meanwhile, the PGA Tour’s entire fun identity revolves around the WM Phoenix Open’s Par 3, 16th hole with Stadium seating filled with drunks. 100% hypocrisy with every point they attempt.

@ProGolfCritic @livgolf_league It’s over, man. Absolute best case is they restructure as a severely diluted version of what they have now with a bunch of no names and old guys.

My advice to everyone on the @livgolf_league front: don’t get overly concerned w/ every report that leaks out the next few weeks that’s spun negative. We already know the media games - just let it play out for a bit & we should know the future by Sept. Exercise in patience.

Do you mean to tell me that a company that hired a guy who is on the board of multiple other companies that filed for bankruptcy might also now be filing for bankruptcy?
