The directive by the @CA_Kenya is an absolute nullity in law and an affront to fundamental rights espoused in and guaranteed by the Constitution. Our statutory institutions are established to facilitate the full realisation of our constitutional ethos, not to be conduits of obliterating the laws that make us a democratic society. We urge our media fraternity that they are under no obligation whatsoever to adhere to the distasteful and illegal directive by CA.

This trend of labeling people as 'paid activists' really needs to stop. Your MP is paid with your taxes and does absolutely nothing, you don’t complain. You have no problem with government bloggers who are openly paid to spin narratives and sugarcoat government failures. Lakini the moment it's someone like Boniface Mwangi, someone who has consistently risked his life for causes that benefit all of us you’re quick to dismiss them as 'just a paid activist.' If it’s really that easy, why don’t you try doing what they do? Because when things go wrong in this country, and we need people to speak up or stand in the streets with us, it’s these same so-called 'paid activists' who show up. If anything, the organizations they work with should triple their salaries, they’re doing the heavy lifting most of us won’t even attempt.

So let me get this straight, you have an issue with Boniface Mwangi being a 'paid activist,' yet you have no problem enjoying the very freedoms and awareness that come from him putting himself on the line during protests? You benefit from the pressure he applies on the system, but somehow his motivation bothers you? That sounds like selective outrage. Whether he's paid or not, the impact of his actions is real and many of us wouldn’t dare do half of what he’s done.
