Ontario Special Constable Association retweetledi

Today, our Special Constable recruit class received instruction from Training Officer - Constable Jason Brown about handcuffing techniques and prisoner management. Maintaining proper care and control of individuals in police custody is essential to protect both the detainee and law enforcement officers.
Under the Community Safety and Policing Act, Special Constables are sworn peace officers with limited police authority, who serve vital functions within police organizations, including:
• Prisoner care, control, and transportation between custody facilities
• Court security
• Crime scene security
• Forensic support
• Community engagement
The Sarnia Police Service is excited to welcome the new Special Constable recruits into our police family and work alongside them upon thier graduation.
