Tonda Eckert’s #SaintsFC and Kim Hellberg’s Boro had the same number of shots on target in the play-off final (0). Tacticians. 🪄

"Last Tuesday we had tactical training for Southampton, then on Tuesday evening we changed everything." Sergej Jakirovic discusses Hull City's preparations this week after their change of opponent 💬

I will say one more thing on spygate before I go on holiday. I don’t blame William Salt. I genuinely feel sorry for him. Leave him alone and let him get on with his life and career. It’s not his fault and he’s been dragged through the mud in the name of Southampton football club. He was asked to do something he believed was part of his job. I’m incredibly sorry for Southampton supporters who had some joy in their life, who were proud of their club and the team for getting to the play off final. As fans we all know that feeling and why we cherish it and stick with our teams through thick and thin. Yes some reacted with defiant humour but see the world through someone else’s eyes and ask what would you have done? The blame for this scandal is not theirs. They wanted to believe in their club, their tribe and stayed loyal. That’s what fans do. They were failed #saintsfc

Kim Hellberg drained and devastated as today's loss added to a tough few weeks. But he refused to blame the strain of spygate on #Boro's play-off final loss. His post-match verdict: gazettelive.co.uk/sport/football…

The commitment from this Boro fan for the spygate banter is next level 😂 (📸: @fusionjosh_)

Someone just sent me this - seen on the London Underground. I once dreamed of a successful career at the Bar. Perhaps the occasional mention in the law reports, or even the Evening Standard. Respectability at last. Never imagined it might involve appearing on a Middlesbrough fans’ Wembley banner somewhere on the Metropolitan Line… Good luck today, Boro.

Early contender for Flag of the Day… #Boro

🚨 Hull owner Acun Ilicali confirms to @RadioHumberside he’ll take legal action if Middlesbrough get promoted. 🗣️ “Our legal team says we have to go for action, thats for sure. We have no doubt about it. All we want is justice. If justice is broken, nobody will enjoy football.”

It’s been a fascinating case. Well done to all involved. We shall all look forward to reading the written reasons. For now, good luck Boro for the final!
