one of the worst side effects of genAI images being everywhere now is that i start to feel a little insane in a "tin foil hat" way when trying to verify that an image i'm looking at is actually real. deeply frustrating

Steven Spielberg is a HUGE animation nerd. He produced Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Tiny Toons Adventures and Animaniacs. It’s his understanding of the discipline for animation that makes his understanding of staging and blocking so great.

The Mr. DNA exposition scene is Spielberg’s first hand-drawn cartoon sequence in a feature film he directed. Kurtz and Friends Animation created the old-school educational style cartoon. Spielberg asked for no changes to the storyboards, pencil tests or the final animation!🦕

I appreciate that this and Devil Wears Prada 2 are reminding Hollywood that audiences still like going to the theater for comedies; now we just need to get audiences out to comedies not based on decades-old properties.

It's true that Hewitt's idea for 60 Minutes partially came from his own short attention span. Most documentaries don't need to be longer than 15 minutes, he felt. But it's disturbing that Nick's only takeaway from this was "Ah, yes. Content."
