We really do need to change the language around "challenging behaviour" Children do well if they can. Anxiety fuels distress, which exacerbates behaviour. Why are we punishing Children who are distressed already? Surely a kinder, more nurturing approach is whats needed?

From June 2017 to September 2019 I collected 736 cases from Families whose children had been restrained & secluded in school. Since then, another 570 and schools have been closed for a lot of that time due to Covid. How many more kids will suffer until they are protected in LAW?

I now have 1306 cases. All children with ASN, Restrained & secluded in school as a response to their distressed behaviour. Branded as "violent and aggressive" in order to justify the violation of their human rights. These are children! 26% are just 6 years old. 🤬🤬 #Heartbroken

I'm raging!!! Message from a school PSA telling me she "believes in restraint" apparently children in her school with SEN are "one step away from jail" and are "violent little shits" and she reckons "they NEED restrained" because "they ASSAULT staff daily" Really? 🤬 #AimHigher
