@WhiteHouse As an American citizen who happened to be in Cambodia at the time Thailand attacked, I can attest to this being true. I have family that are Cambodians, and I know they are hopeful that our President will continue to help bring peace, and are grateful to him.

@howie_hua I have used the multiply by 10 and then cut in half method for many years. This was the method taught in business math classes many years ago. Before going back to college and earning my degrees in mathematics to become a teacher, my degree and career was accounting.

@jsharbin1 I just added this one to my classroom library this year! By the way, I teach 8th grade math, and my kiddos LOVE when we have a "story time!"

@KeithPiccard @howie_hua Begin with 357 = 8. How many 8's are in 357? This gives us 357 = 8(44) + 7. Now we work with 8 = 7. How many 7's are in 8? This gives us 8 = 7(1) + 1. We still have a remainder, so we keep going. 7 = 1. How many 1's are in 7? Now we have 7 = 1(7) + 0. So the GCF is 1.

@howie_hua Howie, I was giving this a whirl, and what about something like the GFC of 357 and 8? I was doing the Euclidean algorythm and it left me with 8/37ths or 0.216. Thanks

@howie_hua After watching your post about this method a while ago, I decided to try it with my 8th graders. They couldn't believe a teacher would allow them to talk about the test before taking it. I agree with your statement regarding test anxiety, and this does help reduce it.

@MattRKay I was the very shy girl who never said a thing in class, and walked through the hallways with my head down, books clinched tightly against me while I walked as quickly as I could to my next class. My career now? I’m a teacher.
