We LOVE plankton! And now, so does the Community Coastal Experience. With our help, they got to look at plankton here in Cordova after performing a plankton tow with Dr. Rob Campbell. #CommunityCoastalExperience #CCE #CORaLNetwork

The US Forest Service met with the Community Coastal Experience Group to teach them about Dusky Canada Goose nest islands in Cordova. After we learned about nest islands, we were able to go out and help the USFS monitor a nest. #CommunityCoastalExperience #CCE #CORaLNetwork

July is Intertidal Invertebrates Month! We want to be sure to educate you on best tidepooling practices to keep our ocean friends safe: step on rock where possible, walk don't run, wet your hand with seawater prior to touching critters, and place things back where you found them.

These kiddos had so much fun in Nature Art Camp last week. They especially enjoyed picking the Lupine down by Sheridan Glacier. Did you know that Nootka Lupine have valuable nitrogen fixing bacteria that live in the nodules of their roots. #SummerCamp #Wildflowers #Lupine

This month we will be highlighting flowers! Before you know it we will be seeing blooming fireweed like the ones shown here. Fireweed blooms from the bottom up, with the first blooms blooming at the peak of summer and as they move their way up, summer slowly comes to an end.
