@GabbbarSingh Good hai!! 👏👏 Had a very interesting pitch today with an old school client who wanted us to undercut! Almost managed to convince him on the 'better pay better quality' spiel but finally said मेरेको नहीं पर्वडेगा, दूसरे कम में करने को तैयार है|

9 pitches this week. 3 just today. All global MNCs. Converted nearly everything. We have barely slept. There is enough business & work out there. Keep grinding.

@kayezad @RijuMET @ET_Wealth To be honest, I stayed in small towns like Nashik, Sangli and Latur for long periods of time till 2015 and saved more money before coming to Pune. Pros: Less stress more savings Cons: Kids education and overall development suffers, if both parents are working.

Mumbai rents. Bengaluru traffic. Delhi pollution. Many Indians are quietly trading all of it, for a smaller city. But what does the move actually do to your finances? @RijuMET runs the numbers in this week's cover at @ET_Wealth

Finally the penny has dropped. Seamers have realised variation ain’t a surprise anymore. Keep that seam up & surprise batters with, well..no variation. Bhuvi leading this thought brilliantly. Least variations ever this season to achieve great results!

@ashwinravi99 Let me ask you here, do you really think the ball wouldn't have hit the stumps! Even this rule 'pitching outside' is so much debatable that it needs a change!

The wrong decision has cost Punjab a run, this rule needs to change ASAP! Just like how the “IMPACT SUB” is an IPL rule, the DRS reversal should also be brought into the IPL even if the ICC delays it for some reason. #MIVPBKS #IPL

@beastoftraal Yes, this brought an impromptu appreciative smile on me in the morning as I was skimming through the ET! The follow-up line "Drive your match" completes the messaging perfectly! @GabbbarSingh

I quite liked today's BMW ad headline (Your loudest 'I do') because it remains gender-agnostic, unlike the MG ad (from December 2025) that clearly marks the car as 'female' (she) and as something worth "cheating" a human wife with. BMW is selling a union (or, long-term commitment, with a purchase plan to back that creative device), while MG is selling a transgression. Both ads lean into framing the car as a partner, but notice the way they go about this framing. By explicitly using "she" and the "cheating" hook, the MG ad presumes the customer profile of a man who views his primary relationships as a baseline from which he needs to "escape". It's written for a very specific cultural archetype of the Indian male buyer who finds transgression aspirational. "Your Loudest 'I Do'" works for any buyer... a woman upgrading her first luxury SUV, a couple buying together, a man treating himself. For MG, which has been working hard to position itself as contemporary and tech-forward, it already has "World's Fastest MG" right there in the ad. That's a forward-looking, performance-led identity. The "she's a machine" line actively undermines it by reaching backward into tired locker-room language to manufacture so-called desire. #advertising #marketing

Karthik 🇮🇳@beastoftraal

"Is it cheating if *she’s* a machine?"? "She"? As in, MG is personifying this car as a woman (and an object of desire) that a man (the intended target audience as per MG) could/may emotionally choose over another woman/other pleasures? 🙄 Or, is it about the Cyberster's (an electric car) so-called 'undue advantage' of acceleration (0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds) over ICE engined cars? Or, in continuation, electric vehicle's performance is somehow less "earned" than the mechanical roar and gears of an ICE vehicle? But the 'she' is redundant in this case. 'It' would be more appropriate. And there is no mention whatsoever of this car being electric anywhere in the ad. So, I presume this angle was not intended at all. The idea reminded me of Bajaj Pulsar's long-running slogan, 'Definitely Male' (2001-2024), which the brand (and Ogilvy) changed to 'Definitely Daring' only in 2024, even though Bajaj was did not personify the product, and was only hinting at the intended target buyer's gender. #advertising #marketing #gender

Great finish...great match. Need such balanced pitches and boundary lengths. Close 160-180 games are so much more interesting than those 200+ runfests. @ipl

If you are in a Tier 1 city and you want to meet the Tier 2 India. Go to a shopping mall’s food-court. All the tables are full. Business is brisk. The outlets are basically a top trending list of Indian F&B businesses. Youth at the tables near you are talking about content creation. Everybody is either an influencer or a budding influencer. Nuclear families have come for their day out. Fathers are hissing at the mothers for the unruly behaviour of their kid. A food court is a low cost interface to western cuisines. Nobody picks their plates, there is a guy employed for that. “Excuse me can I take this chair?” people talk to strangers in English.
