@lawrencekitema When you are poor you can't think beyond your stomach, just trying to eat and survive hence phrases like 'tutashukisha bei ya unga, mafuta, na tuweke hustlers pesa kwa mfuko'

Religion and poverty often go hand in hand, just like politics and poverty. You’ll rarely see rallies or crusades in Karen, Kilimani, or Kileleshwa. But in Kibera, Mathare, Kariobangi, and Githurai, both are common. Different names, same game.

Nimenunua Njugu jana na Leo from two different Burundians and I'm surprised their Mpesa Messages display their Real Names meaning they registered the sim cards with their Kenyan IDs. Foreigners are being issued with IDs and it's worrying

There is no such thing as other people’s children. Every child is our collective responsibility to protect, guide, and defend. If we stay silent when children suffer, we become part of the problem.

Missing children should be declared a national crisis. Everyday we wake up to sad news. Concerned authorities are busy waiting for their patron to talk.

Douglas Kanja has no business being the Inspector General of Police. What do you mean 10,581 children are missing, yet we have a police department that is supposed to protect us? CS for Gender, Hannah Cheptumo, is the one who released the report, saying that the situation needs urgent intervention. Why has she been silent for the past 15 months? This is incompetence of the highest order. Both Kanja and Hannah Cheptumo should resign, and urgent action should be taken.

After overtaxing you, drowning you in debt and cooking the shadiest fuel deals in our history, this govt now wants applause for ‘negotiating’ a crisis it created. They hike prices, blame a ‘global crisis’, then compromise a few loud voices into silence and call it leadership. Kenya doesn’t need photo‑ops and KSh10 gimmicks on diesel. We need the extractive cartel state dismantled. We must Reset, Restore & Rebuild Kenya #Ukombozi @UGMParty @Maraga27 @ntvkenya @citizentvkenya @tv47digital @StandardKenya @TheStarKenya @NationAfrica
William Samoei Ruto, PhD@WilliamsRuto

We are fully aware of the frustration, pain and burden that families, businesses, farmers and transporters have endured due to rising fuel prices over the past few weeks. The truth is this: Kenya is facing the effects of a global fuel crisis caused by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. This challenge is not unique to Kenya. Across the world, countries are grappling with rising fuel prices, supply shortages and disruptions in the global supply chain. Since the beginning of this crisis, we have responded decisively to cushion Kenyans from high fuel prices and to ensure the country continues to enjoy a stable and uninterrupted fuel supply under the Government-to-Government framework. In the April-May and May-June pricing cycles, the Government has spent KSh28.19 billion on fuel price support through direct stabilisation measures and Value Added Tax (VAT) relief of 8 per cent, protecting millions of Kenyans from even greater hardship. Without Government intervention during this period, Super Petrol would retail at KSh230 a litre instead of the current KSh214. Diesel would retail at KSh277 instead of KSh232, while kerosene would retail at KSh270 instead of KSh191. To further cushion Kenyans, I have directed a KSh10 reduction for diesel in the June-July pricing cycle. We call on Kenyans to remain patient as we navigate this crisis. Let us not allow irresponsible political opportunists to politicise a crisis that is global in nature. Together, we shall overcome these challenges. Held talks with transport stakeholders at State House Mombasa and agreed on a series of reforms to address concerns in the transport sector, including the possibility of a temporary relief on lending terms for the transport sector, insurance claims and regulations on minimum fares for digital taxis, as well as allowing the continued use of artwork and graffiti on matatus.

Switzerland has become a global destination for assisted suicide tourism, which is mainly aided by their laws that do not require the patient to be of Swiss residency for the procedure and as long as you perform the final act yourself. The video below is filmed at Pegasos Swiss Association Clinic, one of the few voluntary assisted death clinics in Switzerland. In the video, you can see they have set up the IV for the patient, but she has to physically unlock the IV tube to allow the medication to start flowing. With the procedure costing roughly 12,000$ (1.6Million KSH) , many refer to it as ‘dying with dignity’, with Approximately 500 foreigners traveling to Switzerland annually to end their lives, with this number projected to double by 2035. However this has received criticism not only from pro life organisations but some families of the victims as some of these clinic facilities do not inform your family without your consent until the procedure is done , meaning if you can afford it and you are over 18 and of sane mind you can undergo the process even though the institution insists you make a relative or close friend aware it is not a must.

Another Death Inside A Police Station! 24 years old Brian Njung’e, a student at Kiambu National Polytechnic, was arrested yesterday Thursday 21st May morning in Kirigiti area of Kiambu town and booked at Kiambu Police Station. Brian called his mother from the police station around 9am and they spoke, where Brian informed the mother of his arrest. The family, including the mother, rushed to the police station to follow up. They got there just before noon and requested to see Brian but were asked to wait. They were kept waiting until around 2pm when they were called in and informed that Brian had allegedly committed suicide in the cells. Police claim Brian was alone in the cells as other cellmates had been taken to court. The family is crying foul and wants justice arguing that the police story doesn’t add up.
