Amazon Sellers ASGTG
Amazon Sellers ASGTG@AmazonASGTG·
Dear President Trump, @POTUS @realDonaldTrump @elonmusk @mcuban I hope this letter finds you well. As a leader who has long championed American businesses and economic prosperity, I am reaching out to personally invite you or anyone from your administration to attend the March 20 Amazon Sellers Event (ASGTG), where 1,000+ U.S.-based e-commerce entrepreneurs will gather to discuss the challenges and opportunities we face in today’s global marketplace. ASGTG is the longest-running annual Amazon and e-commerce event and serves as a vital community for legitimate sellers who are committed to ethical business practices. We work tirelessly to support American entrepreneurs, protect honest sellers from fraud, and advocate for fair treatment in the ever-evolving e-commerce landscape. Despite our contributions to the economy, many American online sellers feel unheard, overlooked, and taken advantage of by both foreign competition and the platforms we rely on to conduct business. Here are some of the key issues facing U.S. e-commerce sellers today: ✅ Unfair Competition from Foreign Sellers – Chinese and other foreign sellers often benefit from lower shipping costs (such as through USPS ePacket subsidies) and weaker regulatory enforcement, allowing them to flood U.S. marketplaces with counterfeit and underpriced goods, leaving American sellers at a disadvantage. ✅ Tax and Tariff Inequality – While American businesses comply with strict tax laws and tariffs, many foreign competitors exploit loopholes to avoid these costs, making it harder for U.S. sellers to compete on a level playing field. ✅ Intellectual Property Theft – Many American brands suffer from product hijacking, counterfeiting, and unauthorized resellers, often with little recourse to protect their businesses. ✅ Amazon’s Arbitrary Control Over Sellers – Amazon frequently holds funds and inventory arbitrarily, leaving sellers financially stranded without explanation or recourse. Many businesses have seen their cash flow crippled due to unexplained account freezes and delayed disbursements. ✅ A Murky and Unfair Suspension Process – Amazon’s seller suspension process is opaque and difficult to navigate, with little transparency or accountability. Sellers are often left without clear reasons for suspensions or a fair appeals process, making it nearly impossible for businesses to recover. ASGTG has built a strong and unified community of sellers who stand up for fairness, transparency, and accountability in e-commerce. We advocate for policies that protect legitimate sellers and ensure they are not unfairly penalized while dishonest actors manipulate the system. Despite these challenges, American e-commerce sellers remain resilient because we believe in the principles of free enterprise, innovation, and fair competition—values that you have consistently championed. Your leadership in advocating for American jobs, American businesses, and American prosperity is why so many in our community proudly supported your presidency. Your participation in this event would send a clear message that U.S. e-commerce sellers will no longer be bullied. It would signal that American businesses deserve a level playing field and that unfair treatment by foreign competitors and big tech giants will no longer be tolerated. We would be honored to have you or a representative from your administration attend this important event to meet with American business owners who are working hard to keep our economy strong. Please let us know if you or someone from your team would be available to join us. We would be happy to coordinate all necessary details at your convenience. Thank you for your time, leadership, and unwavering commitment to American business. We hope to see you or a member of your administration on March 20. Sincerely, Ed Rosenberg
