Nice scary story. Let's check the numbers. $2.5 trillion in "global AI investment." Gartner says it's $1.48 trillion in 2025. That's 1.5 times less than the post claims. $560 billion Big Tech capex? That's a Goldman Sachs forecast for 2026, not what's already spent. The "+44%" comes from Stanford data about 2024 corporate investment, not this year's global growth. So out of three main numbers in the post, one is 1.5x too high, one is from the wrong year, and one is a future forecast shown as a fact. Not great for someone who wants us to trust their analysis. "Mass unemployment." Where? US unemployment is around 4%. Companies are building data centers, hiring engineers, growing infrastructure. The $202 billion invested in AI this year (Crunchbase data) doesn't disappear. It pays real people for real work. Goldman Sachs and Brookings "know it"? Yes, they write about AI and jobs. But none of them say "mass unemployment is coming for sure." The author takes the scary part and throws away the rest. About markets? I'll skip that one. They get things wrong both ways. "The market doesn't see what I see" is something every second blogger says. Every big technology change creates posts like this. The pattern is always the same: take a real trend, make the numbers bigger, show forecasts as facts, sell fear. Is AI changing the job market? Yes. Will there be problems? Of course. Is the end of the world coming in a few months? Show me one number that proves it right now.
