@PerrinD91 I hear it being talked about quite a bit the last couple years as they’ve added teams. On Sirius NHL a couple of the guys like the idea. And the league will too because it means more teams in the mix until the end. It’s really stupid, but it helps the league make more money so…

Plus, RW is the first tiebreaker so it still incentivizes winning in regulation. Play in isn’t needed. 82 games or 84 games if you aren’t good enough to be 1-8 you don’t deserve to be in the playoffs.

@PerrinD91 @danbab1981 @PierreVLeBrun @DarrenDreger @AlexC_NJD ... league right now you can't really tell me that a team that finishes 8th with 1-2 more points, or even the same number of points, is actually better than a team that finishes 9th or 10th! It would also give more advantage to teams that finish top 2, as they'd face tired teams!
