It’s becoming increasingly clear that Trump’s J6 take on Pence (he didn’t have the courage to do what needed to be done) was actually more accurate than the narrative that emerged (Pence just wanted to do what was right). I believe that if the easier course was to not certify, or if he believed that he could avoid legal jeopardy for it, he would have gone along with the plan in a heartbeat. He was covering his own ass, nothing more.
