One of the least known yet remarkably well-documented Tic Tac UAP encounters in Europe occurred in 1987 - the UFO Over Vranov Dam case: It was July 12, 1987, around noon. A beautiful summer day behind the Iron Curtain in Czechoslovakia. Border patrol radar detected an unknown object near the Austrian border by the Vranov Dam. The military immediately ordered the object to be shot down, believing it might be connected to an escape attempt from the Soviet Bloc into Austria. A Mil Mi-24 Hind helicopter with three experienced pilots was dispatched to intercept it, but the encounter would completely change their lives. Over the radio, the pilots confirmed visual contact and described the object as cigar or cylinder-shaped, approximately 50 feet long, metallic in appearance, with no windows, wings, seams, exhaust, sound, or any visible means of propulsion. Every time they attempted to lock onto it, the object instantaneously changed direction. At the time, the Vranov Dam was crowded with people enjoying the hot summer day, and many witnesses on the ground reportedly observed the same object. According to the pilots, this was also one of the reasons they hesitated to fire. After several minutes of pursuit, the object disappeared momentarily before suddenly reappearing and moving directly toward the helicopter, veering away at the last possible moment. Aside from this maneuver, the pilots reported no hostile behavior. The object then accelerated at what witnesses described as instantaneous supersonic speed toward the Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant, located about 20 miles (30 km) to the north. Shortly afterward, it was reportedly tracked near the city of Brno and later near the Jaslovské Bohunice Nuclear Power Plant. Meanwhile, two L-39 Albatros fighter jets dispatched from Brno unsuccessfully attempted to intercept it. At approximately 2:30 p.m., after nearly two and a half hours, the object disappeared from radar completely. Testimonies from the pilots, along with accounts from witnesses on the ground, were reportedly recorded and documented. According to military personnel involved in the incident, the object’s speed ranged from around 40 mph to over 2,000 mph. The pilots later claimed that, the day after the incident, orders were given to destroy all records related to the case. They also strongly rejected theories suggesting the object was adversary technology, stating that no known human technology was capable of such maneuverability at those speeds. Austrian and Hungarian military forces may also possess radar or tracking data related to the incident, though neither country has publicly released information about the case.
