@JosephZander @LRSerling The gamestate involves private information. 1) you arent allowed to reveal private info without an effect 2) You aren't allowed to lie to your opponent to deliberatly misdirect them about ANYTHING about the game including your private information zones. The gamestate is 1/2

Juat found out that in competitive irl yugioh bluffing is illegal?? A player got a 6 month tournament ban for putting tokens off to the side that his deck doesnt actually use in order to trick opponents into believing hes running different cards than he was

@RayMaster420 @LRSerling The nib example is literally also not legal. You can't do that cause you are either 1)misrepresenting the gamestate if you dont have it OR 2)revealing private info if you do Both of those are illegal actions

@LRSerling Bluffing and intentionally giving false information are 2 different things in yugioh. If I ask, "was that 5 summons" to bluff that I have nibiru, then thats fine. Using the tokens was legal, intentionally using them to mislead was not

@LRSerling @loopo167 The difference between yu gi oh and other games (specifically magic it seems) is we aren't allowed to verbally or directly lie about what we are doing. You can order your cards so you can keep a combo starter hidden and use it later but you can't say "if this is stopped I lose"

@loopo167 But that is what bluffing is! It seems to me like youre allowed to bluff as ling as you never admit to bluffing, which feels lowkey kafka-esque lol

We have a card that can only activate after 5 summons and you are not allowed to even without mentioning it by name insinuate you have the card cause 1) if you have it you are revealing private info 1/2

@Dosaku @SpectreV65053 @LRSerling Yu gi oh's rules are based on intent. He got banned cause he said in his dexk profile " you put these out and now people think you are on swordsoul". That sounds like a deliberate attempt to misrepresent the gamestate and so he got banned.
