@BlueJays I really don't understand why they haven't fired Schneider yet. He makes the same bonehead decisions game after game. Fire his useless ass. Get rid of Hoffman too. Send Vladdy down to the Bisons to teach him a lesson. He is doing absolutely nothing to help this team.

What a joke ! Second round coverage teases at the intro about this marquee grouping; even showing R2 on the graphic. But what we get is the remaining wannabes with all key players finished. Switched back to PGA.

@BillSpies1 @acaseofthegolf1 Right on ! … I don’t believe any hype..we watch weekly and have attended many events and I can tell you walk up attendance is way down. The Mexico event was pathetic. Only the Cdn Open and some Asian events draw good numbers. You can’t boost interest when it’s all Nelly 24/7.

Something is sadly amiss when this course in R2 plays like a US Open R4. Too many key players in the 70s.pin placements in slope-run off areas not giving the players a fair shot for birdie or par. No birdies on the 18th yet !

Just so wild - the biggest star in women’s golf is leading the first major of the year and you can’t watch her play the first 90 minutes of her final round. We need some common sense laws with golf broadcasting going forward.

@meg_maclaren Well you have one dominant player now and an incredible scattering of first time winners over the past few years which drives interest down. The constant over hype of Korda turns off fans. She’s good for sure but it’s a long list of wannabes and no core of Korda competitors.

A lot of chat about the first women’s major of the year not having big crowds, limited tv time, and a general lack of ‘something’ (not an 18th hole water feature though).. despite a potentially generational American talent dominating from start to (almost) finish.
To people who have any kind of interest, what do you think is missing? What needs to happen to bring the eyeballs, in your opinion?
Women’s golf doesn’t deserve to be written off, because the ingredients are there.

The Bright Side. The smiles I’ve seen more than any others when looking to my right on LPGA telecasts the last decade. Last night they shared dinner with fellow Chevron winners to begin championship week.
To call golf with them is privilege enough. To call them friends? A gift.

@GolfweekNichols The more people and media glorify Nelly Korda, the more the casual fan is turned off. It never seems to occur to the Golf Channel /LPGA that the majority of fans are not necessarily Korda loyalists! I watched and attended for 38 years and can see how attendance had dwindled.

LPGA returns this week in L.A. without Nelly Korda, Jeeno Thitikul
Nelly Korda has lost to only two people in 2026: Hyo Joo Kim (twice) and Lauren Coughlin.
The former No. 1’s finishes this season are 1-2-2-T2.
It’s been 20 years since an LPGA player finished runner-up in three consecutive weeks, and that was Lorena Ochoa in 2006. The LPGA Hall of Famer went on to win five times after that run of close calls.
After a week off for The Masters, the tour returns for this week’s JM Eagle LA Championship, though 27-year-old Korda is not in the field. Her run-up to the LPGA’s first major of the season looks different this year, and it’s easy to understand why.
