India has weaponised the UK-India trade deal to enable Indian workers to come to Britain and undercut the native workforce.
This is a well known strategy of Modi’s that he does to drive remittances back to India and because India has a massive labour oversupply relative to their economy so Modi would rather they work abroad than be unemployed at home.
@Katie_Lam_MP does a brilliant job of explaining this. The trade deal is so lopsided and will so drastically undercut British workers that even @iqbalmohamedMP chimed in to voice his concerns and he’s Indian!

The mood of the British crowd at the @O2 last night was very clear.
Cries of "Leave Greenland Alone!" were met with loud cheers during the US national anthem.
And there were jeers of irony at the line, "land of the free".
I have never seen any national anthem treated like this - feelings are running high in Britain about Trump's attempt to appoint himself King of the World.

Something genuinely weird about a western leader being the smartest person in the room. Not in a jargony, formulaic way (I’m smart because I learn IMF papers by rote!) but in a way where’s he’s actually thought about things very deeply.
