At present the @GamRegGB & local authorities have a statutory duty to aim to permit a harmful industry. A new Gambling Act based on the prevention of harm is needed urgently to protect the public from the gambling industry's exploitative practices & products.

The committee referred to Fair Game, a report from 2014 led by @ProfRCassidy on the dangers of a research system predominantly reliant on industry funding research.gold.ac.uk/id/eprint/1173… Hopefully we don't have to wait another 10 years for meaningful change to broken UK gambling laws.
