To all my foreign friends who think we’re weird for this: When Japanese people finish cooking rice in a rice cooker, the very first thing we do is… stir it vigorously with a rice paddle. Foreigners: “Wait… you actually MIX the rice right after it’s done?!” Yes. And there’s a very good reason. Stirring (or “fluffing”) releases the trapped steam so the rice doesn’t get soggy. It also evens out the temperature so every grain is perfectly cooked — no hard top and mushy bottom. It’s not just a random habit. It’s the secret to getting that light, fluffy, restaurant-quality Japanese rice texture. We don’t do it because we’re OCD. We do it because we take our rice very seriously 😂 So… do you stir your rice after cooking, or do you just leave it? Tell me your country’s rice etiquette. I’m genuinely curious!

I don’t even know where to start... So, my boyfriend showed me this Instagram reel of a Spyro the Dragon statue. The sad part? It’s sitting in an abandoned building. The cool part? It was only 45 minutes away from us! I rewatched the reel a million times and tried to message the creator for details, but they gatekept the location. So, I took matters into my own hands and spent hours tracking it down. I posted on Reddit, and some amazing people reached out with the coolest history on this thing. Turns out, this exact statue was an exclusive promotional piece used all the way back at E3 for Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon! In the old photos, he was perched way up on a high stand looking awesome. Sadly, looking closely at the reel, his wings are missing now—but he’s still dope. After E3, the statue was bought by or donated to The Arc Arcade in Astoria. When the arcade shut down in 2018, the statue basically vanished... until now. Once I finally pinpointed the address, I had to track down the property owner, just crossing my fingers that he’d actually know what I was talking about. Because honestly, who calls a stranger first thing in the morning asking about a giant purple dragon? By the time I gathered all this info it was 3 AM, and I was wide awake like an owl, but I had to get some sleep for work. I finally called the owner around 10 AM. I asked if he owned the building, and he said yes. Then I asked if he knew what that huge thing visible through the glass door was. His response? “Oh, that purple lizard thing? I don’t know! It was there when I bought the building in 2021, and I have no idea what to do with it.” I was absolutely losing it such a hilarious response. Then, he literally asked me, “Can you just come take it on Monday?” and I was like, “Uh, YES!” If everything goes smoothly, I’m going to keep him in storage while I work on restoring him, with the goal of displaying him at a gaming expo in the future. Wish me luck and fingers crossed we get this baby out of there! #spyrothedragon #spyro #retrogaming #insomniacs #estatue

@MinusZeroV also, never believe what a company says. Unless you know the full nitty gritty of how to read corporate jargon. Companies never tell the full truth.

@MinusZeroV Toei is what entity again? What is Toei primarily known for? This is nothing to them. TsuPro isn't, they're the ones suffering. Sentai has many reasons to be in hiatus, money isn't one. Sentai and Rider is a loss leader to them.

If we are looking from "glass half full" side Many JP fans said its amazing that despite ultraman is airing on a regional station- which can barely reach 1/3 of Japan & the fact that its only 25 eps long Domestically, ultraman still makes more money than even super sentai

@RYuIIIShots That's exactly what I'm saying? I know they can't afford to do beyond what they have been but what they accomplished is impressive.

@KanekiSno_ That's not the cause. They'll still renew the license. Chances has it they are asking more because the IP is very popular.

@furosuto81 @B_Rabbit843 Honestly they would be able to renew the licensing if people weren't using pirating sites all the time. Pirate sites dont count towards the studios viewership so that makes it harder for them to be able to afford new seasons n for platforms to afford licensing

Real talk, the fact that 86 had made it to its 5th-year anniversary and is now removed from all platforms just proves once again that anime licensing is hell. Fans quick to point the blame at streaming services but a company can take their anime back if the license expires.

@furosuto81 @B_Rabbit843 Licenses normally at 5 years In-fact most licensed crossovers in games are renewable in 5 years. This boils down to... contract negotiations are currently in full force. You don't know why they haven't reached the agreement.

@B_Rabbit843 I say this as someone who loves 86 and takes no pleasure in it. There’s a reason they didn’t renew the license. They weighed the cost vs how many people watched it/are watching it and the math didn’t math. And unfortunately streaming services are businesses.

@anon54980 Either this deal got shafted or it’s still ongoing but they just haven’t been updating the public regarding it

@ghitaziq98 No not how that works. TsuPro only doing 25 is because they don't have the necessary budget to run 50. Toei is a multi-discipline entity, they have more money and can write off losses. TsuPro can't afford that.

@anon54980 Considering the budget we can only assume TsuPro has relative to the usual Toei henshin hero show, that's nothing to sneeze at

Namco Bandai fiscal year IP sales for the big 3 in Tokusatsu (Kamen Rider, Super Sentai/Project Red & Ultraman) in last 10 years. 2026 saw Sentai/Gavan gain the most profit in the last 7 years. Kamen Rider had a slight dip while Ultraman had the biggest profit loss out of the 3.

Crunchyroll, Amazon, Netflix … Gone! Every streaming platform it was legally available to watch 86 is just unavailable. What is happening? 86 was so loved why would you just let it go? I really am so sad about this. I own the DVDs, yes. But recommending is harder now.😔
