Gold is the world's oldest hedge. Bitcoin is its newest. We’re bringing them together on @Stacks. ⚡️ Imagine earning 6~8% APY on gold-backed assets, No intermediaries, just real-world yield on-chain. @VoltFiLabs The vault is opening soon. 🏛️📈 #Stacks #DeFi #Gold $STX

Bitcoin Staking closes that gap. Lock BTC on Bitcoin L1. Pair it with a small STX commitment (~5% of position value). Earn ~3% APY in BTC over a 6-month bonding period. At maturity, both positions unlock. Principal returned in full. NO slashing.

Holders want yield. But every existing path forces a tradeoff: give up custody, leave Bitcoin, earn in someone else's token, or risk getting slashed. The largest pool of capital in crypto (over $1T) sits dormant as a result.

Early access to the vGLD Gold Yield Vault on @Stacks goes to @VoltFiLabs followers. USDCx in. Gold-backed yield out. STX distributed on-chain. First in line when the vault opens.

vGLD is the first gold-backed yield primitive on any Bitcoin L2. Not a gold index. Not a price bet. A market-neutral position that earns real yield from gold futures structure, converts it to STX distributions on-chain, and redeems in USDCx anytime. This category did not exist before VoltFi built it on @Stacks.

How the vGLD gold basis trade actually works. A thread for anyone who wants to understand the yield mechanics before the vault opens. 1/ Most yield in DeFi comes from token inflation. New tokens are minted and distributed as "rewards." The yield is not real. It is dilution dressed up as income. 2/ The gold basis trade is different. It has existed in institutional markets for a long time. It works because gold futures contracts trade at a premium to spot gold. That spread is the basis. It is structural. It does not depend on token incentives. 3/ VoltFi captures that spread. When you deposit USDCx into the Gold Yield Vault on @Stacks, the vault converts your deposit into PAXG, which is tokenized physical gold. 4/ Simultaneously, the vault enters a short position in gold futures at the higher futures price. The result: long spot gold, short futures gold. Net gold price exposure is neutral. The vault is not betting on gold going up or down. 5/ What remains after the hedge is the spread itself. That spread is the yield. It is generated by the structure of the gold futures market, not by VoltFi printing a token. 6/ In exchange for your USDCx deposit, you receive vGLD. It is a SIP-010 token on @Stacks. It behaves like a stablecoin in terms of price stability because the gold exposure is hedged. But unlike a stablecoin, it earns yield from real market activity. 7/ Yield is distributed to vGLD holders in STX and stSTX, on-chain. When you are ready to exit, you redeem vGLD for USDCx plus accrued yield. The whole cycle is on Bitcoin L2. Nothing like this exists on any Bitcoin L2. That is about to change.

This is the real alpha. Crypto doesn’t grow in silos, it compounds when builders, creators, and infra move together. That’s where momentum is created. @VoltFiLabs
gzani@gzani

Building @VoltFiLabs has shown me one thing: crypto only moves when builders, infra teams, and ecosystems work together. I love being in the middle of that — connecting founders, scoping integrations, and helping projects ship faster. If you're building infra, DeFi, or anything that expands the ecosystem, let’s talk.

@Chain_AlphaX @Stacks @VoltFiLabs simple two options, buy vPAXG which is 1:1 PAXG real tokenized gold exposure or buy vGLD which's gold carry trade and earn yield of 8% irrespective of gold price. vGLD is long on PAXG and short on GOLD futures
