@burby_geek @cryptochamomile Yeah, diets types aren’t changing, just intake. Diet should be what changes. People are going from many big macs to a few less.

@cryptochamomile this is going to be a really cool science experiment to see what happens when people starve themselves of vitamins, trace minerals like magnesium and other nutrients. calories aren't real magnesium and other minerals are needed for hundreds of processes in the body.

The "it stops working when you stop taking it" argument isn't an argument against GLP-1s – it's an argument against virtually any drug for any chronic condition (hypercholesterolemia, hypertension, etc), since very, very few drugs actually cure the underlying condition.
The Wall Street Journal@WSJ

While nearly 18% of U.S. adults have taken a GLP-1 drug for weight loss or to treat a chronic condition, about half of people will stop taking it within a year. Often, they don’t understand what is likely to come next. 🔗: on.wsj.com/4dCkbia

@levelsio @OfficialLoganK I’m stunned you haven’t moved to a fully local setup for your doorbell. I don’t trust cloud with my cameras at all, have my UniFi setup (holds a month directly) that backs up to a NAS for long term

@OfficialLoganK @levelsio I’ve heard of this happening more and more, and people are losing their entire workspace, Gmail, you name it. Stuff they’ve had for decades. It’s the same over at Meta with the rampant AI bans

@levelsio flagged to workspace team, there should be an appeal process for this and in general, agree with the concerned given adversarial potential of this

But… what if it’s the narrative that literally created all memecoin narratives, and sparked meme culture in general 16 years ago when a guy named @realjohnmonarch called a random Shiba named Kabosu ‘Doge’ ? I guess I’m never gonna be able to open my solana:utLyQQCPvjuCc6zeaXdsFeEC3JNdxKS3vxaZWoGdoge wallet much wow

@levelsio It sucks because so much good science can never be alarmist, but even those scientists get lumped in. Base level particle physics research is a good example

Some epic levels of fear mongering by putting the color scale of red already at 23°C / 73°F which is lukewarm This is why people don't trust scientists anymore, they have agendas and can be intellectually dishonest to make their point

It’s Codex Thursday, and yes, we have updates for you. First up: Appshots, a new way to bring the context of what you’re working on into Codex. On your Mac, press Command-Command to attach your app window to a Codex thread. Codex gets both a screenshot and text from the window, including content beyond what’s visible onscreen. Appshots are available across plans on Mac, with enterprise access coming soon.

@thrillhousevh_ kind of wild to think what the landscape could look like in 5 years. lots of people who have lost weight and maybe have unforeseen side effects? people who cannot love/deasire/enjoy? I hope not...

@paulsaladinomd Studies thus far have shown while there is a rebound, people still stabilize below the baseline even after more than a year of being off the drugs. > at what cost? Lower cancer metastasis rates is an upcoming paper so that’s a pretty good “cost”

Incredibly misleading post. GLP1s treat obesity which is a risk factor for many types of cancer (fat causes estrogen production in endometrial cancer & breast cancer, fat increases insulin like growth factor and inflammation in pancreatic/colorectal cancer etc) The take away is don’t get fa… and if you are fat, do something about it.
Crémieux@cremieuxrecueil

Increasingly many studies are showing that GLP-1RAs seem to slow down cancer growth!
