📌 REPORT | Israel has killed 42 Gaza police personnel since the ceasefire agreement took effect last October, according to Gaza’s Interior Ministry, amid what officials describe as a systematic campaign to dismantle civil order and governance structures inside the Strip. In an in-person interview with Drop Site News’ Jeremy Scahill and Jawa Ahmad last week in Istanbul, Mohammed Al-Hindi, co-founder of Palestinian Islamic Jihad and the group’s chief political negotiator, said all major Palestinian factions had prepared to transfer governing authority in Gaza to a technocratic committee — including security and police powers — but Israel is blocking the process while arming rival militias and gangs loyal to it. “Israel is preventing it,” Al-Hindi said. “It appears that Israel does not want any Palestinian body to govern the Strip, including the technocratic committee, nor does it want the resistance to retain weapons.
