You can't tax rich people on unrealized gains from stocks because "it's not real money until it's sold." So explain to me why my property taxes keep going up based on the unrealized value of my house? I didn't sell it. I didn't cash out. I didn't make a profit. But somehow I'm paying taxes on paper gains every single year. Interesting how "unrealized gains" only become a problem when wealthy folks are involved.

@RegalRandy_ @drewlevin Them crazy algorithmimg it has made it insanely worse.simple is generally better it makes true rng games instead of loser q rigged games ....there is no good way to track individual mmr cause a loading game with bad teammates still heavyly effects your numbers

@RegalRandy_ as a very downstream thing yes but the project I’m thinking about is pretty far upstream of that and has to do with skill factor mapping (which has many potential applications, one of which is refining individual skill evaluation)

most ppl at this elo are queuing up more than 1 or 2 games at a time. why is having a 5 minute q time a bad thing? Spoiler: its not. if you had a bad game it gives you time to recover and if you have a good game its not long enough to remove you from flow state. league is a high intensity game. staying in such an elevated state of hyper vigilance is not healthy and a 5 minute q time in gm/chall should be more than ok

theres 2 glaring problems with this both specifically and ideologically. - most billionaires do not have "$1B dollars" its valuation. total valuation of their companies or investments. you wouldnt be able to "cap" someone and even if you did they would circumvent the rule somehow like creating an alt account in a video game (hide resources by giving to other family members). additionally doing this would de incentivize people to do any work beyond $1B because there is no personal gain from it. - also there are items that cost hundreds of millions of dollars. there would have to be a cap on cost of goods sold as well because then no one would be able to afford a 200m yacht, and a 300m jet, a 100m home, etc... and if there is no incentive there would be less innovation and growth as a society,
