Spent a few moments on the official LDS site. As expected, much vague pablum. This, however, caught my eye: "The Holy Trinity is the term many Christian religions use to describe God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. Latter-day Saints believe very strongly in all three, but we don’t believe they’re all the same person." Newsflash: No Christian believes they are the same person. This is either ignorance or worse.

@chris_evans1776 @glennbeck Check the data, we are among the most educated religious adherents around. Yes, smart. You know those divine feelings you experience while reading the Bible? We feel that reading the Bible and the Book of Mormon, praying and attending church.

How can someone as (seemingly) smart as yourself believe a religion as wacky as the Mormon Church practices? I’m genuinely curious, because it just baffles me, and honestly it scares me that humans are so prone to, what looks to me like, brainwashing. I would guess that you were raised Mormon and never truly questioned it, and I could be wrong. I would love to hear your thoughts. And fyi, I’m Christian, and I am constantly learning and digging deeper to make sure I’m on the right track. I stick with Christianity because I can find no more perfect law for this world.

The Biden administration already tried to link Catholicism to domestic terror. If that possibility troubles you, then you understand my problem with this whole thing. LDS folk, I love you, but you have to understand that the Nicene Coucil(s) are THE defining councils of Christianity. There are several others, but they stem from the important question: What is the nature of God? You HAVE to understand the history of Nicaea and where it fits into the theology of Christianity. As such, I have a list of resources to help you understand as much as you wish to be understood: 1. "Nicaea and its Legacy" Great book that simply explains the why and what of Nicea and what the impact was 2. "The Road to Nicea" Podcast which provides a rough snapshot of how Christianity went from hiding out near the tomb of St. Peter, to becoming the religion of the empire and the impact of Nicea 3. "From Nicaea to Chalcedon" Which explores what happened after the Nicean Council and what led up to the Chalcedonian council. Finally, "The Cambridge Companion to the Council of Nicaea" which is what I should have listed first. Frankly the best first stop for learning about the council. I love y'all and I hope you enjoy learning about this rather interesting period of Christian History.

@Thatbrian Yes, I have and I love the Bible. I love the accounts of Jesus and His apostles and disciples. His teachings and His sacrifice in the garden and on the cross and His resurrection. I can’t find the triune doctrine written 400 years later, though.

This is a lie. The book of Mormon opens giving the supposed testimony of 3 and then 8 witnesses Of the 3, all just claimed they were shown it in a dream, two were excommunicated, another left Of the 8, claimed to have handled the plates, 3 were his family, 2 left, 2 remained

They don't believe THIS JESUS: Isaiah 9:6 "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."

Mormons believe in Jesus. @BasedMikeLee is correct in that. But so do Muslims. So do Buddhists. The problem is that they do not believe in the right Jesus. They do not believe in the Jesus of the Bible: the Jesus Who is God the Son, co-eternal, uncreated, Who took upon Himself a human nature in the incarnation and Who has been ever since, is now, and will forever be the one and only God-Man.

The LDS church posted its first net loss in membership in 2025. The church is consolidating wards/stakes and selling off real estate to developers. Anecdotally, friends of ours who are LDS-members say our former ward is “unrecognizable” anymore. A believing member writes a thoughtful book exploring why this is happening and some of your “most faithful” view it as a threat and maintain that everyone else is just wrong. PSA to all the sane Mormons: Your zealots are driving everyone away.

Even though the Trinity is not found in the Bible? I have to say as a Latter Day Saint, I am beginning to truly want to distance myself from "Christians" and just call myself a follower of Christ, the Jesus of the New Testament. Let the so-called "Christians" believe what they want, but they are not being Christlike according to what I'm seeing on social media.

Can anyone tell me why The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was left out of the list of Christian churches?
