Why doesn’t X suspend accounts like va.. or whi.bam no matter how many times we report them???
-These accounts use indirect wording or make comments that the system doesn’t automatically detect as harassment or hate
But then how do we stop these users???
1. Blocking and muting: When a significant number of people block an account, X’s algorithm interprets that account as undesirable and starts hiding its replies at the bottom of threads (shadowban). It’s much faster than waiting for a suspension.
2. 0 interaction: I know that out of anger we quote or reply to these tweets to defend the girls!! But for X’s algorithm, quoting or replying still counts as engagement. This makes the toxic tweet spread even more and appear on more people’s timelines. The best thing to do is report, block, and do not interact. THIS IS IMPORTANT. I know it’s frustrating to resist the urge to respond.
