"Autocephalous, autonomous, self governing churches, are not schisms and perfectly acceptable as long as there is no differences in beliefs" - Ft Peter Heers (@OrthodoxEthos) By that Standard, Protestants are autocephalous churches who can still be considered one united, yet decentralized, body of Christ as long as we are all following the Scriptures that were handed down to us once and for all as per the teachings of Christ and the Apostles. We are united on the Bible. Anyone who strays away from the Bible is a schizm, therefore beliefs like praying to dead saints, icon veneration, among other things, would make you a schizm from the original, pre-4th century, Antiochian, New Testamental churches, as led by the authors of scripture.
