@will_owen9 What have the WRU thrown at the Dragons? They bought them for £3.75m in 2017, covered £millions in losses over 6 years, sold them (including Rodney Parade) for a quid, wiped their covid debt and have provided them with more funding than the Scarlets and Ospreys this season.

I know it’s a tall order but… if the Dragons can make a European final, in the face of everything the WRU have thrown at them, it would deserve to go down as one of the greatest achievements in the history of the Welsh regions. Backing the boys all the way, in Angus we trust 🐉

@JacotheNorth Evidence that Musk was very keen to go to the island though, & after JE’s conviction for being a paedo. Musk’s narrative about rejecting invites because he wasn’t interested has been shown to be lies. The non-reporting of the staggering allegations against Trump is shameful.

@rava_ian There was no clash of heads or shoulder to the head. The other angles showed that. It was a massive collision and Lowry sadly whacked the back of his head on the ground.

But, but….. The TMO’s are anti-Welsh!!!
Samuel Stevenson@samuels346746

@UlsterRugby Makes you wonder why we bother having officials. Tmo freezes the point of contact where you can see his shoulder push his head back. And 10 seconds later says we have no angle of clear head contact. Shameful

@thepaulwilliams Not having a professional football team to compete with for support helps the smaller towns. I’m sure they all draw support from the area outside those towns though. I know the Scarlets do anyway.

The issues in Welsh rugby Led me to have a look at the smallest towns in Europe with a pro rugby team They're Oyannax (22,000ish), Llanelli (35,000ish) and then Castre (42,000) Oyannax is incredible having a pro team with 22,000 The village I'm from, Gowerton, has 5,000

@thepaulwilliams Do you think they would support a merger between Spurs and Arsenal? North London United? Neither has ever won the Champions League, yet I expect there would be fierce opposition to a merger even if it made success more likely. Being loyal to your team isn’t a Welsh rugby thing.

Welsh rugby in a nutshell. "Absolutely no way I'd support a West Wales Ospreys/ Scarlets merger. I'd rather set fire to my kids and kill everyone at the Welsh Rugby Union". -What soccer team do you support? "Tottenham Hotspur, in north London" 👍👍👍👍👍

@BGriffi58461962 @RickyHarries The WRU would effectively be dooming this hypothetical supporter’s club to semi pro status, against that club’s wishes. It’s a stretch to assume fans would transfer their loyalty to a new entity that had taken their club’s place just because a player they like now plays there.

@RichTomos @RickyHarries I think the situation is slightly different in that a player will be moving to a new entity and not to an existing competitor.

@ScarletsOTD That Wayne Peel was a top class right winger. Almost as good as his brother was a scrum half!😆

Neil Boobyer, Salesi Finau, Scott Quinnell, and Dwayne Peel scored the Llanelli tries. Boobyer also added a drop goal at the end to seal a great win.

@SamLStandsUp Limited money? Gatland is reportedly on £600k pa. Edwards has expressed an interest in being an international Head Coach in the past. He wouldn’t be my first choice, but it’s not outlandish to think a Defence Coach would consider a Head Coach job.

I love hearing the coaches people think would a) want the Welsh job and b) take the limited money on offer for it. Take Shaun Edwards - why would he want the Welsh job? It's really not that enticing at the moment.

@mattyhoran The same reason Fiji, Samoa and Tonga have never been invited into the Tri Nations / Rugby Championship; It doesn’t make any financial sense to the 6 Nations unions that own the competition, and there is no space in the European calendar for more international matches.

@samwarburton_ I can’t see the English and French clubs accepting yet another weekend of international rugby in the calendar. Also, it would be a farce to go back to an odd number of teams. Imagine a whole Super Saturday of dead rubbers because a team won the Grand Slam the week before.

@JackoRugby Why is it a smart move? Of course Wales are not going to play over there in November. They will only be playing home fixtures, the same as every other 6 Nations team in November.

A smart move by Georgia inviting Wales to Tbilisi in November. England, Scotland and Ireland have announced their autumn schedules, Wales have yet to do so. Do not be surprised if they give Tbilisi a swerve.
Georgian Rugby@GeorgianRugby

🏆 Following widespread debate across the rugby world after the conclusion of the @sixnationsrugby and @rugby_europe championships, @GeorgianRugby is inviting @welshrugbyunion to play an autumn international test-match.

@JPerrettMusic @WalesRugby I don’t see why anyone else should be able to tell the 6N unions what to do. They have been building this product into the success it is since the 1880s. What is to stop Spain, Portugal, Georgia etc from building their own tournament into a success that generates big income?

@RichTomos @WalesRugby Yeah of course they won’t vote for it. They’ll look after themselves. But should the format of the tournament be up to the 6 nations involved?

@JPerrettMusic @WalesRugby Every union in the 6N thinks the same. Turkeys aren’t going to vote for Xmas. Why risk plunging yourself into financial ruin and risk the next gen of kids getting hooked on something else just for the excitement of a relegation playoff? It makes zero sense so will never happen.

@RichTomos @WalesRugby Don’t finish bottom of tournament then? 6 nations is stale in my opinion. How much more entertaining would that last game have been if there was more at stake? And at the end of the day, it’s not all about Welsh rugby!
