@JimFergusonUK Unfortunately Brexit didn’t make any difference to whether people being were ignored. It did make a difference to their circumstances. Economics trumps everything else.

🚨 THIS IS WHY MILLIONS OF BRITONS STILL DEFEND BREXIT Colin Brazier and Outpost Studios have produced one of the most honest reflections on Brexit I’ve heard in years. No slogans. No party spin. No rewriting history. Just a frank reminder that for millions of Britons, Brexit was never simply about trade deals or economics. It was about sovereignty. Democracy. Identity. And the belief that decisions affecting Britain should be made by people elected in Britain. Whether you supported Leave or Remain, this segment captures something many commentators still fail to understand: Behind Brexit were real concerns, real convictions and ordinary people who believed their voices had been ignored for decades. Credit to Colin Brazier and Outpost Studios for producing thoughtful commentary at a time when nuanced discussion is increasingly rare. Worth watching. @ColinBrazierTV @OutpostStudios

So will Farage end up in prison for being a traitor, like his good friend Nathan Gill?

This is an absolute disgrace. Yet again, our beautiful county is being treated as a mere dumping ground for industrial-scale UK solar farms. I have already written a formal letter of objection to the Secretary of State, Ed Miliband. I strongly urge each and every one of you to do the same and make your voices heard. You can email him directly at: ed.miliband.mp@parliament.uk #StopMeridian

I’ve met a fair few people over the years that voted to remain in the EU but not would vote Brexit. They’ve seen how the EU behaves towards us. I’ve never met anyone that voted to leave the EU but now regrets it.

‘You feel like you’re just free there.’ Bailey, a 22 year old British influencer, tells @BenKentish he moved to Dubai because it’s safer and more liberal than the UK.

We will be charged the price of rejoining. The European Court of Justice would reign supreme over us again. telegraph.co.uk/world-news/202… In Britain, Parliament has always passed law, which is then interpreted by the courts. Since we’ve had European law infect us, which we’re now out of, progressively more and more the courts were empowered to overrule Parliament. Parliament is sovereign, and we have to make that very clear, that there may be a so-called Supreme Court, but it is not above Parliament. The problem is every time the Supreme Court has the right to rule referencing a foreign court, then that makes Parliament less and less. Rejoining would also make it impossible to leave the European Convention of Human Rights. Being a member of the non-EU Council of Europe human rights watchdog and its court is a prerequisite for joining the EU.

@RobKenyonReform Wouldn’t it refreshing to hear a prospective MP say “We look forward to welcome new people to our wonderful community but no planning permission should be granted without designated funding for infrastructure.”

They’re trying to build 400 houses on Winstanley’s green belt. That’s 1000 extra cars on the roads & 1000 more people using infrastructure that doesn’t exist. As MP for Makerfield, I will fully support restoring Winstanley Hall, but strongly oppose the rest of this development.

ICYMI, some EU fans are now comparing the UK's post-Brexit performance against the Netherlands, and you can see why they would want to based on the chart below. But the Netherlands is not a good benchmark, for many reasons. In particular: 1⃣ the UK economy was hit much harder by Covid, with more long-term scarring 2⃣ Dutch energy prices (especially the cost of industrial electricity) are relatively low 3⃣ Dutch government debt is much lower (about 44% of GDP), creating more fiscal space 4⃣ the Netherlands benefits from the "Rotterdam effect", which the UK could never replicate 5⃣ Dutch GDP statistics are distorted by the activities of multinationals (not to the same extent as Ireland, but for similar reasons) 6⃣ the Netherlands has a more competitive tax system, especially for corporate dividends and expats 7⃣ the Dutch have kept minimum wages at a sensible level and avoided a large increase in labour market regulation, which has helped to keep unemployment low... I could go on but life is, of course, much simpler if you just blame everything on Brexit... 😉

If the state wants my generation to have children it should stop taxing us into the ground to bankroll the welfare state. Unfreeze tax thresholds, let people keep more of what they earn and build more homes. Read my latest Substack👇

Nigel Farage was screaming to scrap furlough because it was a waste of money, while he had already claimed £120,000 for himself. He is a fraud every word is a lie.

For me, Makerfield isn’t a stepping stone. It’s my home. The people here are my neighbours, friends & family. I took @Nigel_Farage out in my van to show him the places that matter to me. We chatted rugby league and why Makerfield finally needs a proper local MP.
