Here is one key part and why legacy aerospace orgs often suffer in a post-SpaceX world. Refining requirements when you have a Prime with lots of Subs, and the contracting is cost-plus, makes the below guidance hard to execute. Your requirements and contracts simply aren't responsive enough to the results of dev/prototype testing and MVP results. You don't have the agility you need. To stay out of this potential quagmire you instead end up in a state of paralysis by analysis knowing you have to nail your requirements and contracts before they are set. You are caught between the Scylla and Charybdis. For hardware companies the passage below doesn't adequately note the importance of being hardware rich vs. relying mostly on models and analysis for iteration. Iterate using hardware to better anchor your early models, not the other way around when you can help it.
