Dan is het jouw probleem niet het mijne. Controleer mij niet voor een baan waarvoor je weigert iemand in dienst te nemen. We willen geen robots, we willen mensen! TLDR - WTTG3 Launch Window(delay); Suggested window; Biggest game yet. Hey All, I just want to take a moment and talk with you guys. I am usually pretty transparent about what's going on with the game development work with our games. Internally we wanted to launch WTTG3 during Christmas break, in time when everyone is home on break for the holidays. Thinking this would be the perfect time, however I woke up this morning remembering something that is crucial. Launching a game during Steam's Christmas holiday sale event is one of the worst things you can do as an indie dev. My game would be outshined by all the sales that are going on, it would get bumped out of and not show up in the popular category. People would be focused on buying games that are on sale that came out earlier in the year, and would pretty much kill the launch. WTTG3 will be the biggest game I have launched to date as far as scope, capital and time put into it. I am self funded, so all the money that I put in the game is money I have generated myself from other game sales. I don't have any investors, fully self funded. This game has been a work in progress for quite some time now in the background.(years) and has been in heavy development for almost a year now. I want this game to have the best chance it can to succeed. I am putting a LOT into this game, I want it to be a hit and hit your expectations. With that being said, do I still launch during Christmas time and yolo it? Or delay it? Give it a better launch window, and even more time for me to work on it. When is the best time? Jan? Feb? April? I am not sure.. I just know that I don't want to shoot myself in the foot here, and send out this tweet.. What are your guys' thoughts on this?
