Robert Putnam's study concluded increased diversity reduces social trust & cohesion. There is substantial reduction in civic participation, interpersonal trust & trust in institutions. Essentially, people hunker down & withdraw It's really simple. When my neighbors don't have the same culture, religion or heroes as I do - we aren't very likely to unite under a common cause. I'll give another example In 1984, USA was still ~80% White. Ronald Reagan won 49/50 states in the election. That is completely impossible today. Today, a 'landslide' victory is Trump winning the 7 battleground states & the popular vote by 1.5%. This is because, every ethnic group in the world (except Whites) acts & votes in their own best interest. Multiculturalism is simply the replacement of a dominant culture with competing cultures thus rendering unity impossible
